met in the Community Hall
Wednesday, November 19, with
Mrs. Walter Weber, second
vice-president in charge, An
invitation to visit with
Hurondale Women's Institute
November 26 was accepted.
A collection was taken for
the Children's Aid Society, and
Mrs, Harvey Hodgins reported
on the Board meeting held in
Hensel'.
Seventeen members answered
the roll call "A custom I am glad
died out."
The Christmas meeting is to
be December 17 with a turkey
dinner for all members at 7 p.m.
It was decided to sponsor a
few euchre parties during the
winter.

South Perth District Women's
Institutes Officers' banquet was
held in Russeldale on Wednesday
evening with Glen Gowrie
Women's Institute catering.
Guest speaker was Mrs. E. W.
Ryan of C.F.B. Clinton,
demonstrating winter flower
arrangements, using flowers and
weeds from the home garden.
Business included a vote in
favour of $12.00 donation from
each Women's Institute towards
work at Spruce Lodge.
An invitation was accepted
from Goulds to hold the 1970
Officers' Banquet.
A vote was made in favour of
sending layettes to the North
West Territories and donating
articles to the value of $3.00 or
more for a bazaar at the 1970
District Annual to be held at
Motherwell on May 19.
The area convention for 1970
is to be held in Stratford on
November 12 and 13. •
Public invited
to wrestling
Sports fans in the area will
have an opportunity next week
to watch top notch wrestling
action at South Huron District
High School,
South Huron's Athletic
director Ron Bogart has lined up
a four-team invitational
wrestling tournament at the
school Friday, December 5.
Competing against the local
school will be grapplers from
Listowel, St. Jerome's of
Kitchener and Waterloo
Collegiate. The St. Jerome squad
won the Twin Cities wrestling
championship last year with
Waterloo in the runner-up
position.
The preliminaries will begin
at three o'clock in the afternoon
with the final and consolations
slated for after supper. The
general public will be more than
welcome to watch the exciting
action.

homemaking club members.
