Dufferin House on Saturday
night marked the fortieth
wedding anniversary of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Bowden. Ray Paynter
and Mrs. Barry Reid were
observing a birthday as well.

were recent visitors with Mrs. V.
Overholt and family.
Rev. Dr. R. K. Start and Mrs.
Start of Brantford were guests
with Rev. & Mrs. R. V. Wilson
on Friday afternoon. Rev. Start
who was a former Japanese
Medical Missionary is now a
minister with the Anglican
Japanese in Hamilton..

Miss Mabel Refoir returned to
St, Marys on Tuesday after
spending the past ten days at the
home of her cousins, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Cunnington,
A political prisoner in Cuba,
about to be executed, was
blindfolded. The captain of the
execution squad asked him if he
wanted a cigarette.
"No, thank you," said the
prisoner, "I'm trying to quit."

to 2 in the first Pee Wee game.
Marty Becker with two, John
Van Gerwen and Robert
Guenther with one each were
the goal scorers for Detroit.
Howard Schenk and Larry
Clarke each scored a goal for
Panthers.
The second game ended in a 6
to 3 score with the Seals coming
out with the win over the Blues.
Captain Brian Penhale led the
Seals with two goals. Singles
were scored by Jim Webb,
Robert Heard, Ken Pinder and
Ian Doidge. Doug Regier was top
marksman for the Blues with
two goals with a single by
Mathew Muller.
There was a shortage of
players in the bantam league and
it looks as if we will have to go
with two teams instead of four.
For this week we will try to go
along with four teams again but
if teams are still short of players
the league will be cut to two.

The Annual General Meeting
of the Anglican Church Women
of Exeter was held on November
11 with excellent attendance,
Thepresident, Mrs, A. Carter
led in opening prayer and the
devotional "Come Ye Apart"
was read by Mrs, Keating, Miss
Marion Bissett and Mrs, Carter.
Mrs. Les Gibson thanked all
the ladies who helped make the
congregational dinner such a
success.
Mrs. Bierling gave a report on
the South Saugeen Deanery
Meeting held in Kincardine on
October 21.
A Deanery Missionary bale
was packed in Exeter of good
children's clothing, Five cartons
were shipped to Prince Albert,
Saskatchewan for Indian
pre-school children and babies.
Annual donations to the
Bible Society and to the C.N.I.B.
were voted, and a letter of
thanks read from the Children's
Aid Society of Huron Co, for
donation received.
Reports were given by the
treasurer, Mrs. Wm. Middleton;
the secretary, Mrs. Nelson Wells;
social service, Mrs. Murray
Greene; and by Mrs. Poore on
treats for the sick.

presided for the election of
officers for the coming year,
when the report of the

CLANDEBOYE
James Donaldson, member of
South Huron Rabbit Club
exhibited his rabbits at the
Middlesex-Lambton Show at
Arkona, Sunday.
Mr. Donaldson showed six
rabbits and one of them was
judged pre-junior champion of
all breeds.
He also took two first prizes,
two second prizes, one third
prize and one fourth. The
animals he showed were New
Zealand white rabbits.

club attended the Royal Winter
Fair Monday and Tuesday,
where they were entertained by
the Department of Agriculture.

gathering Sunday on the
occasion of the 85th birthday of
Cleve's father, Mr. Geo. Pullman,
Mitchell. His twin sister Mrs.
Lillie Balfour was also present at
