They were Dr. Thomas Pridham, head of the Veterinary Laboratory; Dr. R. Doidge, co-ordinator of the A.H.T,C. and Dr. Gary Balsdon, assistant to Dr. Doidge. All three purchased homes in Exeter and moved their families here during the summer. I spent .a most pleasant afternoon speaking with their lovely, talented wives. I feel sure, they as well as their husbands, will contribute much to our community. Interested in Antiques A vivacious brunette, Donna Pridham is the mother of five lively children whose ages range from thirteen years to five years old. Busy as she is she still finds time for many other interests and hobbies. Mrs. Pridham loves music, plays the piano herself and oversees the practising of three children who are taking lessons. She has an avid interest in antiques and owns a fine collection of shaving mugs and mustache cups. When I visited her she was in the throes of restoring several MRS. THOMAS PRIDHAM old frames and mounting in them some quaint old prints. Several pieces of furniture are in different stages of refinishing in the garage of her home. "It's great therapy ” , she exclaimed, "when I feel like letting off steam and maybe saying something I'd be sorry for later, I go out and sand the old paint off a chair!" With two of her children she collects stamps and they possess a world wide collection, The Pridhams purchased a lovely, new red brick residence on the corner of Edward and Huron Streets, Mrs. Pridham, a lover of flowers, is already planning. the flower garden she will start next spring, Raised on a small fruit farm near Guelph, she was working in that city when she met her husband on a blind date while he was a student at the university. They have moved eight times since they were married in 1955. While Mrs. Pridham still thinks of Guelph as home she is hoping the family will put down roots here for many years.
