On Sunday evening a
sumptuous congregational dinner
preceded a family service of
Holy Communion in Trivitt
Memorial Anglican Church when
the celebrant and preacher was
the Right Reverend H.F.
Appleyard, Bishop of Georgian
Bay,
The occasion marked the
annual visit of Bishop Appleyard
to the combined congregations
of St, Paul's Hensall and Trivitt
Memorial.
During the year the Exeter
congregation has completed
many improvements in and
around the Church.
New carpeting has been laid
in the Church, in the vestibule,
and in the choir vestry.
Some of the stained glass
windows in the South transept
have been re-leaded, and a new
table placed in the vestibule.
Outside, all the woodwork of
the Church and Parish Hall have
been newly painted, and new
concrete steps installed at both
entrances to the Parish Hall.
In a light hearted speech the
Rector, The Rev. G.A. Anderson
welcomed the guests and called
upon Mr. Mel Keating to make a
surprise presentation to Mr. Les
Gibson, through whose constant
voluntary work many
Improvements were
accomplished.
When the roof leaks, when
windows need panes, when
there's painting to be done,
cupboards to be built, or when a
lock needs fixing, Les is Mr.
Fixit,
Conveners for the dinner
were Mrs. Les Gibson, Mrs, Mel
Keating, Mrs. G.R. Doidge and
Mrs. G.A. Anderson.
Guests included Bishop and
Mrs. Appleyard and Mr. & Mrs.
Harold Boyle, Toronto, whose
