The WMS of Cromarty
Presbyterian Church held their
regular meeting at the home of
Mrs. Sadie Scott with Mrs.
Charles Douglas presiding.
The meeting opened with a
poem on "Remembrance".
The topic was given by Mrs.
John Wallace on "Remembrance
Day."
The last part of the study
book was given by Mrs. Grace
Scott and Mrs. Calder McKaig.
Some very interesting current
events were given by Mrs. Verna
Brooks.
Thirteen members answered
the roll call on "Peace."
Mrs. Mervin Dow conducted
the business.
CGIT SUPPER
A delicious "Around the
World Supper" was held in the
basement of the church with the
CGIT girls and their leaders.
Mrs. Mac Lamond and Mrs.
Gordon Laing were in charge.
The CGIT girls sang a few
numbers accompanied by Mrs.
Gordon Laing on the accordion.
Dr. Whittman of the Seaforth
Medical Clinic showed pictures
taken in Kenya, Africa and had
many things to show from that
country.
He was there under Cross
Roads to relieve another doctor.
The enjoyable evening closed
with the CGIT girls singing
accompanied by Mrs. Gordon
Laing on accordion.

at the Ivanhoe Banquet Room,

RESERVE CHAMPION
Gordon Hodgins returned
home from Halifax after
showing his Aberdeen Angus
steer at the Atlantic Winter Fair,
where he placed second.
It was the reserved Champion
steer of the Fair and was
purchased by Sobey's stores for
$8.75 per pound.

birthday party, Friday evening
in honor of her friend Debbie

Church held their November
meeting Friday evening,
Mrs. Gordon Finkbeiner
directed the program and was
assisted by Mrs. Claire Schwartz,

Mrs. Browning and Mrs.
Buxton contributed a vocal
duet,
Karen and Gwen Finkbeiner
showed slides taken during their
three-month tour of nine
European countries, Among the
pictures were several views of
Crediton and Exeter in England.
The president, Mrs. Earl Neil,
conducted the business. The
social committee was authorized
to make preparations for the
congregational potluck supper.
Used Christmas cards and
nylons were requested for use at
the Bluewater Rest Home.
Officers were instructed to
prepare the annual reports for
the December meeting.
Hostesses were Nola Faist,
Laura Mathers, Mrs. Ross
Krueger, Mrs. Ed. Lamport and
Mrs. Earl Neil.
LAYMEN'S SERVICE
Sunday was Laymen's Day at
Zion United Church.
Steve Dundas was chairman of
the morning service.
The men's choir sang two
numbers under the direction of
Rev. Doug Warren.
Guest speaker was Rev. Cyril
Gingerich of Zurich, his theme
"The Master's Men."

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lamport

in the Community Hall, Sunday,
their twenty-fifth wedding

The surprise celebration was

Grease and soot stains on a
