Thirty were present, including Mrs, Ford, Mr. & Mrs. John Brintnell and family, Jarvis; Mr. & Mrs, Howard Ford, Sherri and John, and E, Myers of Bolton; Mr. & Mrs. Toni Gusso and family, Thornelale; Mr. & Mrs. Bob Forrester and family, Zurich; Mr. & Mrs. Jack Ford, Mr, & Mrs, Hubert Miller, Dashwood; Mr. .& Mrs, Russell Broderick, Thirty attend fete to mark birthday Mrs, Elmira Ford and Mrs. Kay Ford, Exeter. S & C CLUB After a delicious dinner at the Dashwood Hotel Tuesday, October 27, the S & C Bridge club attended a panel show at the Canadian Forces Base, Clinton. The musical entertainment of the Sisters of St, Joseph Concert band conducted by Martin Bo undy was thoroughly enjoyed. A short business meeting and a social hour was held later at the home of Mrs. A.V. Tiernan, Officers for the new year are Mrs. Ken McCrae, Mrs. Ervin Devine and Mrs. Syd Baker. Prizes were won by Mrs, Vernon Schatz and Mrs. Harold Kellerman. The next meeting will be Thursday, November 6 at the home of Mrs. Amelia Klumpp, JAMES BEAVIS James Beavis of Detroit, husband of the former Grace Hayter, passed away in Providence Hospital, Wednesday, October 29. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Don (Barbara) Duffy; a son, Jack; one granddaughter and two grandsons. The funeral was held Saturday, November 1 with interment in Parkview Memorial Cemetery. Attending from Dashwood were Grace's three brothers and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hay ter, Mr. and Mrs. James Hayter and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hay ter. The men were also pallbearers. PERSONALS Mrs. Irvin Rader attended the Supper Seminar of the Times-Advocate in Dashwood Community centre and also toured the plant in Exeter Thursday evening. Mrs. Carl Oestreicher is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London. Douglas, small son of Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Mason returned home Saturday from St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where he had his adenoids removed. Miss Judy Mason spent some time with Sharon Rader during the weekend. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Datars attended the Lutheran Youth Counsellors' workshop in Toronto Saturday. Peter, Elizabeth and Sandra Datars spent the day with their aunt, Miss Iris Becker of Toronto. Their biggest thrill was a subway ride. Mr. & Mrs. Ervin Guenther of Port Elgin spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Syd Baker. Fire of unknown origin burnt a large barn owned by Roy Sutherland Friday evening. BEST BUDGIES — Budgies shown by Ray VanDorsellaer, Dashwood, took a large number of prizes at the annual London and District Cage-Bird Association competition last week. His birds were awarded 10 major prizes and trophies, including the best 1969 novice, best four novice, best four budgies in show, best novice opposite sex and the top in four color classes. VanDorsellaer is president of the association this year. Bidclulph girl is married By MRS, M. H. ELSTON A pretty autumn wedding was solemnized in St. Patrick s Roman Catholic Church, Lucan, when Dorothy Jeurgins, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Jeurgins, RR 1 Lucan, was united in marriage to John Collier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Collier, Nova Scotia. The ceremony was performed by Father Bricklan October 18. The bride given in marriage by her father, was becomingly attired in her floor-length gown of white crepe. A shoulder-length veil was caught with a crown of organdy petals. Her sister was her only attendant and wore an empire-styled green satin floor-length gown with matching headpiece. The groomsman was a cousin of the groom, Alphonsus Dennis, London. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs, Collier left for a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls. The young couple will reside in Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Herwig Schroeder whose home is in Hamburg, Germany, grandparents of the bride, were guests at the wedding. A shower was held November 4 at the home of Mrs. Audrey McFalls to honor Mrs. Collier. Nineteen neighbor ladies gathered and presented her with beautiful gifts. Mrs. John Dickey and Mrs. Audrey McFalls made the presentation. The evening was spent playing bingo. PERSONALS Visitors Wednesday with Mr. & Mrs. M. H.
