ELSTON RI DDU LPH A group of 45 students of the College of Music, Western University, gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Elston on Friday evening for a party. David Elston was their host and his sisters, Sheila and Wendy, their hostesses. A very pleasant evening was spent when they enjoyed a hayride party and games. Later they all enjoyed a lunch, which the students had provided, served by their host and hostesses. PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs. Bob Hern and family of Zion attended the anniversary service at Centralia United Church and were dinner guests of Mr, & Mrs. Sam Skinner. Mrs. Jack Blair spent Wednesday in London with her mother, Mrs. Ellen Flannagan. Mr. & Mrs. Allan Elston attended anniversary service at Granton United Church Sunday and were dinner guests of Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Mardlin. IRVIN Edward Restemayer was .a participant in the bike-a-thon from Waterloo to Stratford and back Saturday. Proceeds were for the boys' home in Kitchener,. for the emotionally disturbed. LWML RALLY Ten ladies from Zion Lutheran Missionary League attended the fall rally at Monkton, Monday evening. Mrs. Gordon Rose of Mitchell spoke on the International convention she attended in Houston, Texas, and showed slides, The theme was "Thrust with Trust." NICHOLAS H. MILLER Nicholas Miller passed away at St. Catharines Hospital, Wednesday, October 22, in his 91st year. He had been in failing health for some time. Surviving are five children, three boys and two girls, and a large number of relatives in this community. He was born and raised in Dashwood. Funeral service was held in Hulse and English Funeral Chapel, Friday, October 24, with Rev. G. Mitchinson officiating clergyman. The body was then sent by air to Grenfell, Saskatchewan where the burial was made in Grenfell Cemetery, Monday, October 27. Mrs. George McFalls, Mrs. Ross McFalls and family attended a going-away party for Mrs. Rose McFalls in Centralia Church, Friday night. Miss Birdine McFalls R.N. of Detroit returned to her nursing duties Monday after spending two weeks vacation with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Alex McFalls. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Kemps, John and Jimmie of London, spent Sunday with the latter's parents Mr. & Mrs, Chas. Atkinson. Mrs. Alex McFalls, Mrs. Karl Theander and Miss Birdine McFalls visited last Wednesday with Mrs. Ada McDonald of Mt. Carmel. Miss Wendy Elston was guest soloist at Wesley United Church, October 19 at the anniversary of the church and was dinner guest of the Honorable Wm. Stewart and Mrs. Stewart. Mr. & Mrs. M. H. Elston spent the weekend with their cousins, Mr, & Mrs. Ardean Randall, Wyoming. Miss Judy Blair attended a teachers' convention in Toronto, Friday evening and also Saturday. PERSONALS Mrs. Hilda Haugh and Mrs. Ray VanDorsselaer attended the graduation exercises at Northwestern Secondary school Friday evening when Philip Rader, son of Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Rader graduated. Mrs. Haugh spent the weekend in Stratford and attended the installation of Rev. Lawrence Eifert at St. Matthews Lutheran church. Others from Dashwood attending were Mr. & Mrs. Garnet Willert, Mrs. Laura Datars, Mrs. Ray VanDorsselaer and Rev. E. E. Steinman. Mr. & Mrs. George Wolfe of Toronto spent the weekend with Mrs. Sylvia Wolfe. Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Hutchinson of Russel's Point, Ohio, are visiting with Mrs. Henry Eagleson and other relatives. Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Eagleson of Southampton were weekend visitors. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Wolfe and Eleanor were Mr. & Mrs. Eric Wolfe and Tracy of London; Tom Wolfe of Toronto; Miss Susan Pennington of Parkhill; and John Parker of Lucan. Mr. & Mrs. Albert Miller were Sunday supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Miller of Waterloo. Mr. KT. Mrs. Irvin Rader and family and Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and girls of Zion were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs, Garnet Weiberg and family of Waterloo. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Taylor of Florida and Mrs. Rachel Bell of Huronview were recent callers at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Schenk. Friday is Hallowe'en.
