Centralia United Church was
the scene of a pretty wedding
Saturday, October 18 when Rev.
Robert V. Wilson united in
marriage Joyce Marie McFalls,
daughter of Mrs. George McFalls
and the late George McFall's,
Centralia, to Ralph Walker
Simpson, son of Mr, and Mrs.
Wm. Simpson, Clandeboye.
Baskets of pink and rose
gladioli and candelabra formed
the background. Mrs. Ken
Hodgins, Centralia, was organist
and accompanied the soloist,
Mrs. Ross McFalls, sister-in-law
of the bride, Centralia, who sang
Wedding Prayer and Oh Perfect
Love.
Given in marriage by her
brother, Ross McFalls, Centralia,
the bride looked lovely in a
floor-length gown of white peau
de charm, empire style with
controlled A-line skirt and long
lily-point sleeves. Guipure lace
graced the high waistline and
also edged the detachable chapel
train which fell from the
shoulders, To complete her
ensemble she chose a
shoulder-length silk illusion veil
which was held by a cluster of
tiny roses and leaves. She carried
a cascade of white carnations
and ivy with white orchid
centre.
Matron of honour was the
bride's sister, Mrs. Hugh Davis,
Centralia, and bridesmaid was
Miss Heather Davis, niece of the
bride.
They wore floor-length gowns
of organza over taffeta in shades
of autumn rose in empire-style
with slightly gathered skirts and
long full sleeves with wide cuffs
and button trim. They carried
basquettes of light pink
carnations and ivy and wore
similar small cap miniature
carnations and ivy as
headdresses.
Wayne Carroll, Centralia was
best man and Murray Simpson,
Clandeboye, brother of the
groom ushered.
For the wedding dinner held
at the home of the bride's sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh Davis, Centralia, the
bride's mother received guests in
a dress and jacket ensemble of
saxon blue crimpeline, matching
wool felt hat and black patent
accessories. She wore a corsage
of white miniature carnations
and pink sweetheart roses.
, She was assisted by the
groom's mother who chose a
two-piece suit of blue printed
double knit with black feathered
hat and black accessories, and a
corsage of pink carnations and
pink roses.
Also assisting was the groom's
grandmother, Mrs. Arthur
Simpson in a dress of dark
brown wool with dark brown
accessories and a gold mum
corsage.
For a honeymoon trip to
Washington and the Southern
States, the bride chose a coat
and dress ensemble of brocaded
crimpeline in shades of mint and
gold. Large chocolate brown
velvet picture hat and chocolate
brown accessories and a white
orchid corsage completed her
outfit.
The evening reception was
held in the Lucan Community
Centre with 200 guests
attending.
The couple will reside in
Goderich on returning home.

officiated in the ceremony.
-. The bride is the daughter of
ME: and Mrs. Neil Gingerich,
Zurich and tha groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Elam Shantz,
Zurich.
Attending the bride were Miss
Janice Attridge, London, as
maid of honour and Miss Mary
Ellen Gingerich, sister of the
bride, and Miss Sharon Baechler,
cousin of the bride, as
bridesmaids. Miss Christine
Buehler, niece of the bride, St.
Jacob's was flowergirl.
Groomsman was Douglas
Shantz, New Hamburg. Ronald
Oesch and Richard Shantz
ushered guests.
The wedding music was
provided by a quartet consisting
of John Geiger, Stuart Steckle,
Irvin Martin and Ralph
Gingerich.
Following the reception at
the Zurich Community Centre,
the happy couple left on a
honeymoon trip through the
Western Provinces. Upon their
return they will reside in Zurich.

Rev, R. J. Groome officiated
in Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Church amid baskets of white
gladioli, pink Mums and fern.
Wedding music was supplied
by Paul Dietrich. The soloist was
Miss Doris Schwartz, Creditor',
On the arm of her father, the
bride wore a floor-length gown
of hand-clipped chantilly lace on
empire lines. The bodice was
:fliShioned with lilypoint sleeves
'kind a scalloped bateau neckline,
The skirt featured a front panel
of lagoda enhanced by an empire
bow sweeping to a chapel train.
Her headpiece was a lagoda petal
cap trimmed with pearls and
held her four-tiered French
illusion elbow-length veil. She
carried a cascade of deep pink
sweetheart roses and fern.
Bridal attendants were Mrs,
Don Mantey, sister of the bride,
Exeter, Miss Theresa Glavin,
sister of the groom, RR 1
Clandeboye, and Mrs. Jim
Morrissey, RR 2 Creditor.
Their gowns featured white
cut velvet bodices trimmed with
teal blue bows accenting the
empire lines, and teal blue peau
de soie A-line skirts. They wore
teal blue flower and net
headpieces and carried nosegays
of small pink roses, white roses
and baby's breath tied with long
white ribbons.
Michael Glavin, brother of
the groom, RR. 1 Clandeboye,
was best man. Ushers were
James Glavin, brother of the
groom, RR 1 Clandeboye, and
Randy Smith, brother of the
bride, Crediton.
The reception was held at the
Crediton Community Centre.
The bride's mother received
guests in a mauve coat and dress
ensemble of lace and silk
shantung, matching hat and
shoes, white gloves and bag and
a corsage of yellow roses. The
groom's mother chose a blue and
beige silk brocade two-piece
dress, matching beige hat and
shoes and a corsage of pink
roses.
For a honeymoon to points
north, the bride donned a coat
and dress ensemble with a gold
and brown print crepe dress, tan
brown coat, gold gloves, brown
shoes and bag and a white
golden-throated orchid corsage.
They will reside on the
groom's farm at RR 1 Crediton.
