Meeting four of the Stella
Seamsters 4-H Homemaking club
was held at the home of Mrs.
Spencer Jeffery, Tuesday
evening. Roll call was answered
by 12 girls.
Mrs. Jeffery discussed the
proper care of the skin. Guest
speaker Mrs. Ackinson showed
the proper use of make-up and
demonstrated on two of the girls
how to apply it properly.
The girls then divided into
groups and Mrs. Jeffery and Mrs.
Butson checked the girls'
patterns.

Autumn leaves, flowers, fruits
and vegetables were tastefully
arranged to make a colourful
setting for the October Meeting
Of the United Church women,
Mrs. Earl Haist, Mrs. Jack
Essery and Mrs. Wm. Elliott
were in charge of the meeting
which opened with a reading by
Mrs. Haist, Passages of scripture
were ready by Mrs. Haist and
Mrs. Essery followed by prayer
by Mrs. Elliott.
The study was built around
the theme "Bridging the gaps
between those who have and
those who have not."
They were reminded that all
are alike in God's Kingdom. All
must be concerned about the
needs of others. Poverty is often
the cause of bitterness and
unrest.
Musical numbers included
lam) solos by Lois Elliott and
Mrs. Alvin Essery.
Mrs. Harvey Smith conducted
the business.
The program committee were
the hostesses.

A bridal shower for Miss
Carolyn Hall RN, London, was
held in the Mt, Carmel Gym,
Monday evening.
Mrs. Gerald Regan read the
address and contests and games
were enjoyed by everyone,

place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

the meeting.
