Visitation reported totalled 71 calls. The General UCW meeting will be Monday evening, October 20 with Unit 1 in charge. Mrs. McAllister thanked all who had helped with a recent wedding, with flowers and with the nursery for the month of September. Mrs. E. Chipchase read letters of thanks from Overseas Relief Depot, Toronto and Dr, Whiting' of Hazelton, B.C. for bales of clothing received, It was agreed that a fall bale should be packed after the Kinnettes Rummage Sale, the members to start sorting and saving • suitable clothing. KAROO DAVIS District Rebekah s receive 20-year jewels for service Guests from Brussels and Exeter attended the regular Lodge meeting at Amber Rebekah when 20 members were presented with their 20-year jewels. Noble Grand Mrs. Earl Campbell presided assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs, Elgin Thompson. Jr. P.N.G. President Mrs. R. A. Orr presided and along with Mrs. J. E. McEwen conducted the worship service using the theme "Gratitude." A record of the Lord's Prayer by Perry Como was played. The roll call was answered with a Thanksgiving verse. An invitation was accepted to attend the October meeting of the Marion Richie organization of Cromarty Church October 21. About 15 ladies expect to attend. Mrs. Orr gave a report of the workshop held at Paisley Presbyterian Church recently. The Ladies Aid meeting followed with Mrs. Harvey Hyde presiding and the final arrangements made for the fowl supper to be held in the church tonight (Thursday). THANKSGIVING SERVICE Harvest Thanksgiving Service was held in St. Pauls Anglican Church, Hensel!, Sunday. The church was decorated with flowers, fruit arid vegetables. Rev. Bren de Vries of Hespeler, former rector, was guest speaker. Eric Luther is the local campaign chairman again this year for the area canvass on behalf of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Canvassers will be calling on Hensell residents within the next two weeks. Please give generously. Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Woodstrom, Detroit, visited last weekend with Mr. & Mrs, Stewart Bell. Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle were guests for Sunday dinner with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Mickle, London. They attended the concert presented by Mantovani and his famous orchestra in Sunday evening the Alumni Hall at the University of Western Ontario. Ronnie Shaver of Detroit University was a weekend guest with Miss Troyann Bell, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Corbett arid Mr, & Mrs. Joe Flynn spent the weekend at Pike's Bay and Southampton. Mrs, Eric Munroe of Seaforth visited this week with Mrs. Bertha MacGregor. Mr. & Mrs. Wilson Broadfoot of Goderich visited recently with the latter's mother, Mrs. R. MacLean. Mrs. Gladys Coleman is a patient in Clinton Public Hospital where she is convalescing following surgery last week. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland and daughter Gwen of Clinton visited recently with Mr. .& Mrs, James Sangster and Bradley. Bert Coleman of Whitby Spent the weekend at the home of his mother, Mrs. Gladys Coleman and brother Ivan. Mrs. Agnes Williams, of San Bernardino, Calif., is visiting with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs, Earl Campbell. Mrs. Bertha Jinks has returned after a visit last week spent with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Jinks, Gail and Billy, and Miss Susan Jinks, of London. Approximately 12 to 15 ladies from Hensall along with Clinton ladies took a bus trip to Aylmer, St, Thomas, and Port Burwell Tuesday, October 7, The trip was organized by Mrs. Wilfred Colcolough of Clinton. Miss Sylvia Henderson who has been on a six months tour of Europe, and her brother John Henderson, who has enjoyed a three week vacation in Ireland and England, arrived home Sunday. Bill Hoy, son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hoy has joined the Armed Forces and leaves for Cornwallis, N.S. October 25th to begin a nine week basic training. St. Peel's Anglican Church held their Thanksgiving service Sunday morning at n 0,m, The new rector of the- parish Rev. B. R. Rokeby.Thornas was in charge of the Service. Mrs. Clayton Ross sang a solo and the choir rendered an anthem. Mr. & Mrs, Cairns and Mrs. Ransom of Tottenham visited Friday with Mrs, Dan Jarvis, Mr, & Mrs. Leslie Fairbairn and family, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Henry and family, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Dobson, Mr. & Mrs. Art Humphries, Miss Lil Ball and Mrs. Ayres of London attended service at St. Paul's Church and spent the day in the village. Mr, & Mrs. Bill Irvine and family of London visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Alex Irvine. Mrs. Alex Irvine attended the deanery meeting at Mitchell Wednesday evening. Guests for the evening were Mrs. Gary Maxwell and Mrs. Homer Campbell. Plans were made to hold the fall rummage sale Friday, October 24 •at 8 p.m. It was also decided to send $10 to their adopted child for Christmas. A committee was drawn up for the March of Dimes campaign Feb. 2, General chairman, Mrs. Bill Fuss; recruiting, Mrs. Jack Drysdale; finance chairman, Mrs. Bob Caldwell.
