McQuarrie of neatneote,
Dear Mr, Editor,
I find myself disturbed and
angry with the lack of thought
given to the action of certain
participants in our local fall fair
parades.
How may I ask can grown
people have the nerve to toss
matches from floats onto the
street into the hands of innocent
children? Or is this the newest
type of peanut scramble?
Our area has been plagued
with numerous large fires in the
recent months, Many questions
have arisen as to causes in some
of these cases.
As parents and educators we
are constantly warning children
against playing with matches and
fire. In my estimation this action
was a very good way of
promoting trouble. Matches
mean fire and fire is trouble
when in the hands of children.
If adults involved in such
parades cannot make mature
decisions then I feel our fair
officials and officers of the law
should take a closer look at the
situation. Let's prevent rather
than promote trouble.
Sincerely,
A concerned parent
and teacher.
