BRITISH LEYLAND MOTORS LINEUP
AUSTIN mini
Here's economical driving . . up to 50 miles per gallon, The
fabulous Mini — the car with the world-famous name — is now better
than ever. There's distinctive new styling, a potent new power unit
giying better acceleration and higher top speed. Then there's the
well-proven front-wheel drive with its fantastic roadholding qualities.
Optional automatic transmission is another achievement for the Mini,
making it an exceptional second car or one for the little lady.
AUSTIN 1300
AMERICA
Twenty percent more power than its Austin 1000 predecessor and
with a revolutionary two-in-one fully automatic transmission that lets
you select four forward gears and have it fully automatic when you
want it. The America 1300, designed for Canadian driving, has
hydrolastic suspension — the world's most advanced suspension system.
The 60 horsepower engine is mounted directly over the front wheels for
greater traction in snow and mud. Test drive it and experience the
difference.
AUSTIN 1800
Inheriting all the famous features of the Mini and 1300, the Austin
1800 Mk 11 adds to these a 90 m.p.h. top speed, with acceleration to
match. Lounge seating for five and the toughest structure ever built
into a production car. All round, there's truly spacious room to relax
in, with the emphasis on head, leg and shoulder room. Add the
advantage of the numerous built-in safety features and you'll rapidly
realize that the Austin 1800 Mk 11 offers remarkable value-for-money.
Here's a car you'll be proud to own and happy to drive.
ROVER
Road and Track magazine points out that "taken altogether, the
Rover 2000 TC is a luxuriously fitted saloon which in fact is that
elusive object, a full 4-seater 4-door GT car. The combination of road
holding and comfort ensure that large distance can be covered with
ease, the fuel mileage is quite remarkable, the finish is beyond
reproach." Need we say more? If so, read what Car and Driver magazine
said: "it is a bona fide 'safety' car — one designed specifically to avoid
accidents whenever they can be avoided, and to provide the greatest
possible protection for its occupants when they cannot."
GT AUSTIN MGB
A great feature of the MGB is that its liveliness and atceleration are
accompanied by the best of good manners. There's the sports
performance and second the braking which gives the car a sure, firm
straight-line stop. The firm road-holding, stable cornering give a true
and positive ride that is traditionally and typically M.G. A glance inside
cannot fail to delight the intending owner. The twin bucket seats are
snug-fitting and fully supporting. There's room to stretch your legs. But
the first emphasis is still on performance.
TRIUMPH
It's coming soon and you'll want to see it.
