Prizes in the latest
twice-weekly jitneys of the
Exeter Lawn bowling club were
well spread around. with only
one person making the top four
competitors on Saturday and
Tuesday nights.
Howard Ince placed first
Saturday night with two wins, a
plus of 12 and aggregate of 24
and placed fourth in Tuesday's
competition.
Ivan Hirtzel was second in
Saturday play with a pair of
wins, a plus of '7 and aggregate
of 23. Clarence Down was third
with a plus of 2 and aggregate of
18 to go with a pair of wins
while Lizzie Lamport was
fourth.
The Saturday winner was Ray
Smith as the result of two wins,
a plus of 18 and aggregate of 27.
Girlie Ince placed second with a
plus of 16 and aggregate of 27 to
go with a double win. Mabel
McKnight was third with
Howard Ince bringing up the
rear on the prize ladder.

Members of the Exeter
Saddle club made an impressive
showing in Friday's open horse
show competitions at the
Western Fair in London.
In several competitions local
entrants placed second and
third. In Western Equitation,
Nancy Swartz of Centralia
finished second riding Mary
Vandy while Shalid, owned and
ridden by Janet Ecker of Exeter
placed third.
Barry Mousseau of Hensall
riding Rebel Joe was second in
the clover leaf barrel race and
Jim Rundle on Mr. Snippy was
third,
Janet Ecker was second with
Shalid in an event for Morgans
and Arabians while Brad
Mousseau of Hensall on Honey
Dew was third in the open flag
race.
