Mrs. Delbert Geiger is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where she underwent surgery. Mrs. Terry North, Teresa and Tammy of Fingal spent last week with Mr. Stewart McQueen and Mrs. Harry Snell. Harry Snell, who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital, has returned home. Mrs. Alice Campbell of Exeter is spending this week with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Campbell. Mrs. Lou Simpson who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, was able to return to the Blue Water Rest Home this week. Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Geiger of Gore Bay were recent guests with Mrs. Eric Kennedy and Ira Geiger. Mr. & Mrs. W. F. Amess and Kathy, London, were recent visitors with the latter's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Noakes and family. Mr. & Mrs. Karl Haslip and family, Burlington, vacationed with the latter's mother Mrs. Eric Kennedy and Ira Geiger. Miss Cassie Dougall, a patient in South Huron Hospital returned home Friday of last week. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Alexander, David and Susan of Georgetown were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Albert Alexander. Robert is a nephew of Mr. Alexander. Mr. & Mrs. Albert Alexander have returned from a vacation spent with their cousins Mr. & Mrs. Nathan Phillips in Jeddo, Mich. They were away a week. Mr. & Mrs. Ross Corbett were guests at the MacDougall — Cooke wedding in Clinton, Friday evening,' Mr. & Mrs. Alwyn Dayman of Grand Bend were recent visitors with Mrs. Aida Simmons. Mr. & Mrs. Charles Goodman of Detroit visited this week with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Corbett. Mr. & Mrs. Don MacLaren and daughter Jodie returned to their home itI Scarborough after visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Chapman and Mrs. Bertha MacGregor. Mr. & Mrs. Allan C. Busche and daughter of Dorchester were weekend visitors with Mrs. Busche's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bert Horton. Mr. & Mrs. Blighton Ferg were recent visitors with relatives in Milverton. Bill Munn who has been a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London returned to his home last week. Mr. & Mrs. Wm. J. MacLean of Exeter were recent visitors with the former's mother, Mrs. R. MacLean, Mr. & Mrs. George Middleton of Defroit are spending a few weeks at the home of the former's brother, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Middleton. • a Hensall and district news CORRESPONDENTS Mrs, Maude Hedden, Phone 262-2002 Mrs. Bertha MacGregor, Phone 262-2025 Hensall Rebekahs meet; hear Ont. president's letter send treats to members who were invalids. A letter from the President of the Rebekah Assembly, Mrs. Sarah Laidlaw of Hagersville on "Legislation", was read by Mrs. Leona Parke, recording secretary. The Past Noble Grands will be in charge of the next meeting September 17 and invitations will be made to Sister Past Noble Grands to attend. Mrs. John Corbett Jr. P.N.G. who attended Grand Lodge session of the Rebekah Assembly in Toronto in June gave a very interesting report of the meetings. Following the meeting a delicious luncheon was served in the lower hall and a social hour enjoyed. MS study is for future Mrs. George Walz, vice-president, presided for the September meeting of the Women's Missionary Society held in the Sunday School room of Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hensall, Monday evening with 13 present. Mrs. Gordon Troyer and Mrs. Clarence Volland presented the devotion and study. The topic read by Mrs. Esther Wright was "Missions of preparing of The Round Table", giving a thought for the betterment of future Christian generations. Thirty-three visits were made by members in the two months of summer to sick and shut-ins. Mrs. Walz reminded everyone to attend the W,M.S. workshop September 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, Paisley. Next meeting will be held on Monday, October 6 with Mrs. R. A. Orr and Mrs, J. E. McEwen in charge of the devotion. The ladies' aid meeting followed with president Mrs. Harvey Hyde in charge and Mrs. Esther Wright acting as secretary for the evening. Several business discussions took place. Noble Grand Mrs. Earl Campbell presided, assisted by the Vice-Grand, Mrs. Elgin Thomson, who reported for the visiting committee. Arrangements were made to UCW hears poetry composed by member Thursday afternoon the September meeting of U.C.W. Unit 4 of Hensall was held in Fellowship Hall in the United Church, Mrs. James McAllister presiding. The devotional was in the charge of Mrs. Elizabeth Riley. • Mrs. Rodger Venner contributed a reading based on the verse "If God is for us who can be against us" which she composed while on vacation at the Lake. Mrs. E. Rowe had charge of the Bible study for which three groups were formed, each with a leader. The roll call was answered by 22 members and the three guests. The general meeting will be Church news At the United Church Sunday morning altar flowers were placed by the family in loving memory of Duncan Stewart. Flowers were also placed through the courtesy of the Willsie-Richardson wedding. ¤ Wayne Payne was guest soloist. Visiting organist was Mrs. Beatrice Hess. a Monday, October 20 with Unit 1 in charge. It was decided to do some custom quilting about the third week in October. Arrangements were made for the nursery and flowers for the month of September. UNIT 2 Unit 2 of Hensall U.C.W. held its first meeting of the fall season, September 8. Mrs. James Drummond opened the meeting with a reading. Mrs. Ron Mock chose scripture portions which blended with the devotional given by Mrs. Drummond. Roll call was answered with 26 members present. A thank-you card was read from Mrs. Earl Soldan. Mrs. Harry Hoy presided for the business and reported that the bake sale held in June was a success. Mrs. Rodger Venner favoured with two readings, one she wrote herself called "Reflections of a Tranquil Day". Plans were made for the wedding, September 20. It was decided by a show of hands to hold the next meeting on the third Monday of October. A short business meeting will precede the general meeting at 8:30. Moni is a three times Gold Medalist of St. Thomas Figure Skating Club while Ron is Western. Ontario Champion and Canadian competitor. Miss Troyann Bell visited over the weekend with Ron Shaver of Gait and attended the Galt Fair, Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle spent; Sunday in Arva, guests of Mr, & Mrs. Charles Crouch. The Misses Amy and Greta Laramie were successful in Winning several prizes for weaving and knitting at the Western Fair, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Woodstrom of Galt visited last week with Mr. & Mrs. Stewart Bell and Troyann, Mr. & Mrs, R. A.
