Routly. Mrs. Allan McLennan returned home Sunday after visiting three weeks with her parents in Norway. GB church 20 years old By MRS. WELLWOOD GILL GRAND BEND The 20th anniversary of St. John's-by-the-Lake Anglican Church, Grand Bend, was observed Sunday. The Rt. Rev. G.N. Luxton celebrated Holy Communion with the Rev. E. Insley, rector, and Peter Gill, altar server. A sanctuary lamp, the gift of the A.C.W. was dedicated by the Bishop. The Epistle was read by Wm. Dace and the Gospel by Premier John Robarts. The bread and wine were presented on behalf of the people ..by Mrs. Stan Gill and Mrs. Stuart Gunn. " John Aseistyne was the Bishop's Crozier. After the service, a reception was held in the Parish Hall. Mrs. J. Mennel was in charge. Mrs. John R. Harley and Mrs. Wainright poured tea and coffee assisted by the members of the A.C.W. PERSONALS Miss Linda Mason is on holidays with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Mason. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Patterson, Winston, Larry Cluness of London, and Mr. & Mrs. Raymond English spent last week with Mr. & Mrs. Wm Abbott at Baptiste Lake. Miss Sue Rosser, who has been employed at Grand Bend for the summer and stayed at the home of Mr. & Mrs. W. Gill, has returned to her home in Denfield. Dr. & Mrs. C.B. Paton visited Tuesday with Mrs. Herman Powe who is a patient at South Huron Hospital in Exeter. Mrs. Mervyn Carter, Clandeboye, Mr, & Mrs. Carlyle Carter and children of London spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Walden of Chatham. Mrs. Grace Whitmore received word of the recent passing of her sister in England. She would have been 98 on September 5. There will be no church service Sunday at the United Church, Clandeboye due to the decoration service at St. James Church at 3:00 p.m. (INTENDED FOR LAST WEEK) Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Harold Rae Hodgins who passed away August 14 in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. Hodgins was an active member of St. James Anglican Church, a church warden, a member of the church board and the choir, and treasurer for the estate of Emmanuel Hodgins for the church.
