Twenty-five were in attendance, Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Mousseau are holidaying at Ottawa and Montreal. Mr. & Mrs. Garnet Mousseau and Cheryl of Ridgetown, visited with relatives here over the weekend, and attended the Mousseau family picnic. Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobol visited with friends and relatives in Ridgetown, Woodstock, Stratford, London and Seaforth last week. Mrs. Mac MacFarlane and family of Forest visited last week with Mr. & Mrs. Herb Stratton and family. Miss Dorothy Farquhar of Toronto visited over the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Emma Farquhar. Mrs. Ross Corbett and sons Steve and Jeff and Mr. & Mrs. Joe Potter and family of Clinton visited during the past week with Mr. & Mrs. Fred Preston and family at Sundridge. Mrs. Irene Finlayson and Mrs. H. Volland spent a few days holidaying at Bayfield last week. Miss Cassie Dougall is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mrs. Jack Corbett attended the Mary Hastings Picnic held at Springbank Park, Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Alex Mousseau returned home after vacationing in the Bruce Peninsula. Mrs. Eva Parker and Bill of London visited with the former's father, Mr. Hugh Norris this week. Jack Henderson, who has been a patient in Clinton Public Hospital for over a week, returned home Monday of this week. Mrs. R. M. Peck and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Howe visited this week Shower brides at lawn party The Thrifty Kippenettes 4-H Club gathered Sunday afternoon on the lawn at the home of Mrs. W. J. F. Bell to honor Miss Sharon McBride and Miss Marjory Hyde, brides elect of the coming month. A rosebud corsage was pinned on each of the girls. After several bridal contests Mrs. Edna Caldwell read an address and gifts were presented to the two former 4-H club girls by 27 former club members and three leaders. with relatives in Toronto and Kirkland Lake. Mr. & Mrs. Robt, Hembruss, Manitoulin Island, Mrs, George Eebel and daughter Shelly, Espanola, spent the past few days with Mrs. Leona Parke and Patricia and other friends in and around the village. Mrs. Alma Hess has returned from a trip out West with Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Schwalm. At Lloydminster, Sask. Mrs. Hess visited with relatives. At Regina, Sask., she enjoyed visits with her four sisters and a brother. The trip by car was most enjoyable. Mr. & Mrs. Roger Beetles and daughters Debbie and Denise of Cooksville called on Mrs. Leona Parke this week. Mrs. R. M. Peck recently vacationed for two weeks with relatives in Kingsville. Mr. & Mrs. Edgar McClinchey and Mr. & Mrs. Harry Smith and Jerry holidayed last week at Sandfield on Manitoulin Island, and visited with Mr. & Mrs. Doug Dick, Terry and Bryan at Evansville. — Continued from Page 4 contributes for food, rent and chores. In reality, there are usually two or three working and the rest just drift in and out like alley cats. This produces personality clashes and hassles and a very unhealthy psychological atmosphere. Add drugs to this boar's nest and you have some pretty sick ydung people. They claim they're opting out of a sick society. Work is a dirty word. They are meditating, seeking a higher spiritual life. There's a lot of talk about vibrations and Buddha and pure love for everyone. All this in a pig-pen? The young people are rather pathetic, but I grieve more for their parents, who simply don't know how to cope with a way of thinking and living so alien to theft own. They are loving, frustrated and helpless. And I save a little pity for myself. Got a letter from my daughter, from Montreal, telling me cheerfully that she had one cent. Wired her some money yesterday. Got a collect call this morning, saying she couldn't cash it because she had no proof of identity. Phoned the Montreal telegraph office, told them it was OK to cash it. No can do. Confirmation had to come from our local wire office. Called them, got off a wire and presumably she cashed it, as she hasn't called back yet. So, the original bite, plus two wires, plus two long-distance calls to Montreal. Should all kids, at birth, be placed out on a lonely hillside for the shepherds to adopt? We might be flooded with shepherd's pie, but it would certainly make life a lot simpler. A family dinner attended by 40 persons was held in the Legion Hall, Hensall Saturday. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion which marked the celebration of the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Foster, residents of Hensall for the past 53 years. Mass was said at 10 a.m. Saturday morning in St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Zurich, by Rev. Father A. Durand. Mrs. Foster was the former Charlotte (Lottie) Hildebrant of Zurich. "In Church news Rev. Harold F.' Currie occupied his own pulpit at the United Church Sunday morning basing his sermon topic on "The Lord's Prayer". Don McCurdy rendered a solo Memorial flowers in the sanctuary were in memory of Benjamin Kaiser, placed by his family. Lady entertains on her birthday Mrs. N. Long of Kippen entertained ten ladies to an afternoon tea on the lawn at her home Monday afternoon in honor of her birthday. A delicious birthday luncheon was served, including a birthday cake. t; Mrs. Long was the recipient of many lovely gifts, congratulatory messages and one dozen roses. The couple was married 60 years ago at the home of the bride's parents. in Zurich with Father Shroder officiating. Attendants Mrs. Joe Masse and Alex Foster of Zurich are both deceased. The couple was showered Saturday with gifts including a purse of money from the family, door chimes from neighbors and friends and many other gifts. Congratulatory messages were received from Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau; Robert Stanfield, leader of the opposition; Premier John Roberts; Hon. C. S. MacNaughton, Treasurer of Ontario and Robert E. McKinley, Huron MP. There was also a plaque from the Ontario Government. The couple has a family of two sons, Harold, Hensall, and Raye, Shipka; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Jean) Smith, London; Mrs. Bill (Marie) Howe, Toronto; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
