Mrs. Jeffery presented Mrs. Cann with a coloured crystal dish, Mrs. Cann thanked all those present, PERSONALS Mrs. Lloyd Bailantyne and Mrs. Stewart Miner are attending Alma College School for United Church Women at St. Thomas this week. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Cann and Cheryl spent last week at Lake Timagami, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Stewart and R.Carr family, and Miss Beth Passmore spent part of last week at Chesley Lake, Rev. Stewart and Mrs. Mineri Charles and John were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs, Bert Miner of Lambeth. Master George and Miss Barbara Armstrong of Exeter spent Saturday with Master Alan and Miss Connie Jeffery. Several from this community attended the Gunning picnic at Riverview Park, Exeter, Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gackstetter and family, formerly of Exeter, have moved into the community. Mrs. John McCallum of California is visiting Mr. & Mrs. Harold McDonald, Mr. & Mrs. Elzar Mousseau of Kippen visited Sunday evening with Mr, & Mrs. Carman Woodburn. Sister Margaret and Sister Veronica Fleming of Calgary have spent the past two weeks with their mother, Mrs. Mary Fleming and her family. Paul Dietrich left last week by plane to visit his sister, Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Patterson and girls in Winnipeg. Sister Mary Ryan, Windsor, visited last week with her mother, Mrs. Marie Ryan while a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Regier and Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred Hogan accompanied by Sister Margaret Hogan motored to Windsor Sunday to visit Wilfred Ducharme who is making a good recovery after a car accident he suffered a month ago near Dashwood. Mr. & Mrs. Henry Wilflin and son Bill of Blair spent last week with Mrs. Frank Trainor and family. Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Carey and Mary Eileen attended the Alderson-Carey wedding held in Chatham Saturday and spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Clare Rock and family of Wallaceburg. Mrs, Erma Gheysens, Belgium, spent the past six weeks visiting Mr. & Mrs. Albert Wydooghe and attended her daughter Rosa's wedding in St. Peter's. Basilica. Sister Theresa Mahoney, London visited her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Mahoney for a few days last week. FRED BOWDEN A birthday celebration was held at the summer home of Mr, & Mrs. B. Webb, Grand Bend, Sunday honoring Russell Schroeder on his 77th birthday. Relatives and friends attended from London, Norwich, Sarnia and New Hamburg. There were about forty in attendance. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Hodgins and Marikay returned home Friday following a two week vacation. They visited with Mr. & Mrs. Norman Fralick in Royal Oak, Michigan; with Miss Ada Mitchell in Montpelier, Ohio, and with Dr. & Mrs. Imre Toth and family in Boston. While in Boston they attended the church service during which their grandson Randy Toth received the rite of baptism. Mr. & Mrs. Chas Rowe, Linda and Carolyn of Windsor spent a few days last week with Mrs. Rowe's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Essery. Mr. & Mrs. John Thompson were accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. Sherman Eaton and Bonnie of London on a motor trip through Northern Michigan to Sault Ste Marie, returning home by Sudbury and North Bay. Miss Arlene Newcombe, Sgt. Vance Jacober who has just returned from Vietnam, Craig Jacober and Thomas Newcombe were Friday guests with Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Essery and family. Robbie Essery was celebrating his eighth birthday. Mrs. Kirk Lyon, Susanne and Marianne of Willowdale were visitors last week with Mrs. Lyon's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Cooper McCurdy. The girls remained with their grandparents for some holidays.
