Being in the right place at the
right time is the only way
newsmen get scoops, and coming
up with that correct
combination comes very seldom.
A couple of our
contemporaries from the news
media in London thought they
were in the right place at the
right time when they showed up
at CEB Clinton for a press
conference last Wednesday.
Rumors about the base
closing had been floating around
for several months and the very
fact an important announcement
was to be made indicated that
indeed the chop was Coming.
The London newsmen were
right to a point, but what they
didn't know was the fact the
Supply and Maintenance Depot
at London was also going to be
closed out.
SO; there they Were in
Clinton and they indicated their
Offites at London were unaware
that an announcement about the
city base would be made at the
same time as the news of the
Clinton closing was Made public,
family of London and Mr. &
Mrs. David Smith of Forest.
Mr. & Mrs. David Wheeler
