Mr. and Mrs. Melvin King
were pleasantly surprised
Thursday evening, July 31, at
the home of Earl and Jean Neil
when about 30 neighbors
gathered for a going-away party
prior to the time when Mr. and
Mrs. King will move to their
home in Exeter at 117 Anne
Street.
Contests were conducted by
Etta Powe and Hannah Lamport.
Mrs. Lamport also read the local
news of Fairfield composed by
Mrs. Gordon Wilson in 1941.
Delores Shapton gave a
reading. Ethel Schroeder read
the address after which Reg. •
Schroeder, Bruce Shapton and
Don Davey presented the couple
with a full-length mirror, coral
vase and playful pig.
Mr. King replied.
The balance of the evening
was spent playing progressive
euchre and lunch was enjoyed
