The flowers were placed in the church in memory of the late Mr. & Mrs. Basil Edwards by relatives and in memory of the late John Mitchell by his family. The choir was directed in the service of song by the organist and leader Mrs. Malcolm Dougall. Mr. & Mrs. John Corbett were recent visitors with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chaffe and sons at Mitchell. Mrs. F.G. Bonthron and Mrs. Lou Simpson enjoyed a pleasant motor trip to Manitoulin Island this week. Mr. & Mrs. Walter Spencer have returned home after a pleasant trip to Western Canada. Miss Karen Bedard, London, has returned home after holidaying with her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Stewart Bell. Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle and Mr. & Mrs. Charles Crouch, The annual Cochrane reunion was held at Clangregor Square, Bayfield, July 13 with 45 in attendance. Miss Brenda Turner and Mrs. Gerald Rathwell were in charge of the sports. Running race winners were girls 6-10, Karen McAllister and Brenda Goff; boys, Robbie Goff; girls 11-15, Janice Turner; boys, Allan Taylor; young ladies, Janice Turner and Sandra Turner; young men, Grant Jones and David Turner. Back to back, David Turner and Wayne Love, Grant and Ken Jones; wheelbarrow race, Ken and Grant Jones, Wayne Love and David Turner; ladies kick-the-slipper, Janice Turner; men's kick-the-slipper, Ken Jones. Three relay races were won by Wayne Love's team. Mrs. Gerald Woodstrom, Galt, spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bell. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Pollock, Jim and Jane visited Sunday at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Roy Oesch near Clinton. Guests with Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobol last week were Mr. & Mrs. Kase Vermaas, Oud-Beyerland, Holland; Mr. & Mrs. Kase Van DenHeucel, Goderich. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Knights, Blenheim, visited on the weekend with Stewart McQueen and Mr. & Mrs. Harry Snell. Stewart and Jane returned home with them. Mr. & Mrs. John Skea, Dorothy and David and Pauline Allan, left Friday by motor for a three week vacation to "Man and his World" at Montreal and camping at Maydock. Mrs. Irene Little and son Vernon, Watford, were recent guests with Mrs. George Hess. Mrs. Garnet Allan is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London, where she underwent surgery. The 1970 picnic to be held the second Sunday in July at Clangregor Square. Hensall girl is showered Mrs. Pearl Elliott entertained at her home at 74 Waterloo Street, Exeter, Wednesday evening when a number of girl friends of Miss Margaret Allan, Hensall, bride-elect of August 9 gave her a miscellaneous shower. Lovely gifts were presented to Margaret by Miss Norma Wheeler of Essex. Entertainment was under direction of Mrs. Elliott. Home decorations were pink and white streamers and bells. Have barbecue fire burned down to a bed of coals. Flames scorch; hot coals brown to a golden lus- ciousness. Murray of Mitchell delivered a special message to the minister and the congregations. A reception for Rev. Jarvis, Mrs. Jarvis and family was held at the close of the service in the school room. RMAN LONG Carter and family of Essex, Mr, 84. Mrs. Grant Love of Caro, Michigan, visited on the weekend with Mr. & Mrs, McBride, Miss Donna Ganatak of Hamilton is visiting with her aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs, Ron Littleton, Wayne Littleton and Charlene are visiting Mr. & Mrs, Russ Faber and Mr. & Mrs. Ron Littleton, Gordon, Kathy, Jim and Gerry Bell have returned home following a vacation with their grandfather and uncles and aunts in the Shakespeare area.
