Kirkton couple wed 50 years
Mr. s. Milton their married life at RR 1
McCurdy,ur. and rd y,who have lived all of Kirkton, celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary recently.
The couple was married June
25, 1919, at the home of the
bride's parents, Mr. and. Mrs.
John Miller, Staffa, Best man
was William Miller, Cromarty,
and bridesmaid was the late Mrs.
Neil McGill.
The newlyweds went to live
on the family farm where Mr.
McCurdy was born and raised.
They have two sons, Raymond
at home and Bob, Kitchener,
One daughter, Dorothy,
predeceased her parents.
To mark the occasion, the
celebrants received guests at an
open house in their farm home,
A family dinner was enjoyed in
the evening.
Of special pleasure to Mr. and
Mrs. McCurdy was a telephone
call from Mrs. McCurdy's
brother, Gordon Miller, who
lives in Los Angeles, California.

Barbara Jane Munn, Reg. N.,
became the bride of Allan John
Prang in a ceremony on
Saturday, June 28. Reverend
A.C. Blackwell performed the
marriage rights at the Lutheran
,Church, Zurich.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thompson
Munn of Stoney Creek. The
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lenoard Prang, Zurich.
Roberta Lee Munn was maid
of honour for her sister.
Bridesmaids were Lois Simmons,
cousin of the bride, and Mrs.
Jack Coleman, sister of the
bridegroom. Sandra Coleman,
niece of the bridegroom was
flower girl and Michael Coleman,
nephew of the bridegroom was
ring bearer.
Robert Prang, brother of the
bridegroom was best man.
Ushers were Edward Prang and
Jack Coleman.
Soloist Mrs. Joan McDonald,
nursing classmate of the bride,
and organist Miss Dorothy
Wagner, provided musical
accompaniment for the
ceremony.
Following the wedding
ceremony, the bridal party,
riding in two antique
automobiles owned by Leonard
Prang, were paraded about the
town.
A wedding dinner was served
in the church by The Lutheran
Church Women and in the
evening a reception and dance
was held for families and friends
in the Zurich Community
Centre.
A most unusual feature of the
reception was a colourful mural
which formed the background
for the bride's table. The mural
was designed and painted by the
bride's sister, Roberta.
After a lively evening of
dancing, lunch was served by
The Women's Institute and the
bridal couple left on a motor
trip.
Following their honeymoon,
the couple will take up residence
in Brantford.

All Saints Church in
Strathroy was the scene of the
wedding ceremony Saturday
which united in wedlock Judith
Ann Regier, daughter of Mrs.
Josephine Regier, Strathroy, and
the late Charles Regier with
Donald Paul Hajas, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Hajas, RR 3
Dashwood. Father Hardy
officiated amid standards of
white daisies.
Wedding music was supplied
by Miss Mary Ellen Galleger.
Given in marriage by her
brother-in-law, Louis Parker, the
bride wore an empire gown of
silk organza fashioned with a
bertha collar of Venice lace. The
same lace was repeated on the
hem of the detachable train. Her
very simple veil was made of
organza with netting. She carried
white daisies, yellow fuchsia
mums, ivy and baby's breath.
Bridal attendants were Mrs.
George Fresard Jr., Mt. Clemens,
Michigan; Mrs. Kenneth Wilkes,
London; Mrs. David Gilkes, Mt.
Clemens, Michigan; and. Miss
Sharon Paterson, Strathroy.
They were dressed alike in
powder blue dresses of a
combination of chiffon and
linen. Linen formed the skirts,
the turn-down collars and the
cuffs of the chiffon sleeves. Tiny
buttons accented the front of
the dresses and there were bows
at the back waists. Their
headdresses were veiled bows
and they carried daisies.
James Moore, London, was
best man. Ushers were Kenneth
Wilkes, London; David Gilkes,
Mt. Clemens, Michigan; and
John Munn, Toronto.
The reception was held in the
Hermitage Club. Following this
the couple left for a honeymoon
to be spent on the east coast.
The bride changed to a white
flared dress with navy blue and
red trimming around the neck
and skirt hem, a matching belt,
navy blue accessories and a
corsage of red carnations.
They will reside in Strathroy.

Crediton district. Miss Callfas
also attended the nurses
graduating reunion in Sarnia.

from Holland last week to visit
with her sister, Mrs. Bruce Cann.

28 in Evangelical United Church,
Crediton, before Rev. D. Warren.
The church was decorated
with candelabra and fern.
Wedding music was supplied by
the organist, Mrs. Paul Schenk
and the soloist, Mrs. Charles
Browning.
On the arm of her father, the
bride wore a 'floor-length,
sleeveless gown styled along
empire lines in peau de sole with
a lace bodice trimmed with
beads. She wore a coat of lagoda
and chantilly lace and a
matching petal headpiece which
held an illusion shoulder-length
veil. She carried a cluster of
daisies and white stephanotis.
Bridal attendants were Mrs.
Ken McCann, Crediton, Miss
Nancy Strang, Exeter, Mrs. John
Elder, Hensall, and Miss Sandy
Dickey, Woodham.
They wore floor-length gowns
of lace over taffeta in shades of
pink, yellow, green and blue.
The gowns featured empire
waistlines encircled with peau de
sole and collars and cuffs of
permanent pleated organza.
They wore floral cluster
headpieces and carried nosegays
of daisies and white baby's
breath.
Best man was Gordon Strang,
Exeter. Ushers were Al Tiffon,
Sombra, Gerald Young, Sombra
and Robert England, Crediton.
For travelling to Montreal
and the United States, the bride
changed to a dress with a white
top, drop waistline and skirt of
deep mauve. Her sleeveless coat
