was held at the Centralia
Community Centre, Sunday.

London were Wednesday visitors
with Mrs. George Hicks.
Robbie Essery was holidaying
last week with his aunt and
uncle, Mr. & Mrs. August
Jacober in Waterford, Michigan.
Mrs. Samson Mc Falls, Exeter,
Mrs. Robert Lilley and Susan of
London and Mrs. Phil Johnston
of Glanworth were Sunday
visitors with Mrs. Arthur
Mc Falls.
Mr. & Mrs. Frank Johns of
Toronto attended the service in
the United Church, Sunday
morning and were guests with
Rev. & Mrs. R. V. Wilson.
Misses Greta and Amy
Lammie of Hensall attended the
McLaughlin-Lammie wedding,
Saturday and were guests for the
weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Ray
Lammie.
Mrs. Roy Harrison underwent
surgery in Victoria Hospital,
London, last week.
A shadow of gloom was cast
over the community, Sunday,
when it was learned that Murray
Elliott, a highly esteemed
life-long resident, had passed
away suddenly at his home.
Friends and relatives paid tribute
as he lay at rest in the
Hopper-Hockey Funeral Home. 7

exercises of the Bible Vacation
School was held. A good crowd
was in attendance. There were
68 children at the Bible School

The July meeting of the
Women's Missionary Society was
held at the home of Mrs, Wm.
Harper of Mitchell,
Mrs. M. Dow presided and
opened the meeting with a
poem. Mrs. Dow led the
devotions. The offering was
received and was dedicated by
Miss Olive Speare.
The Study Book lesson
"Swinging Pictures" was
presented by Mrs. Grace Scott
and Mrs. Calder McKaig.
Swinging pictures were shown
by each member.
There were fourteen ladies
present and all responded to the
roll call with Bible verses read in
unison.
Mrs. McKaig reported 12
visits and 30 cards sent to sick.

was presented. Barbara Kerslake
read an address and Agnes
received many lovely gifts.

Nova Scotia had been drowned,

left by plane Thursday to be
with her parents. At time of
writing the body has not been
recovered.
