A wedding reception
followed at the Dashwood
Community Centre. The bride's
mother chose a rose bud pink
silk shantung jacket dress
ensemble with mandrin collar.
The jacket and dress were both
trimmed with crystal and pink
beads. She wore matching
accessories with a deep purple
orchid.
The groom's mother wore a
mauve and white print jacket
dress. She complimented her
outfit with black accessories and
a corsage of white roses trimmed
in purple.
For travelling along Lake Erie
the bride wore an apricot and
cream coat and dress ensemble
with matching apricot flowered
hat. A green orchid and black
accessories completed her outfit.
The bride was feted by
several showers.
Mrs. Ann Morenz held a
shower at the home of Mrs. June
Anderson; Mrs. Hugh Morenz,
Mrs. Jack Corbett, Mrs. Les
Adams and Mrs. Harry
Chapman, all aunts of the bride,
gave a shower in her honor at
Blackbush Community Centre;
Mrs. Nancy Denomme and Mrs.
Madeline Ziler held a shower at
the latter's home for the
bride-elect.
The young couple will reside
at 411 Albert St., Exeter.

The general meeting of the
James St. UCW was in the charge
of Units 3 and 4. A pot luck
supper was served after which

The afternoon unit of Main
Street United Church Women
held their meeting Thursday
afternoon at the cottage of Mrs.
B. Tuckey. President Mrs. M.
Gardiner presided for the
business. Roll call was answered
by 24 members.
Mrs. A, Frayne conducted
worship on friendship. Mrs.
Warren led in prayer. Mrs.
Frayne was assisted by Mrs.
Jeffery, Mrs. H. Skinner and
Mrs. M. Gardiner.
A letter of thanks was read
from Dr. Whiting of Hazelton
B.C. for the bale of quilts and
good used clothing sent recently.
On behalf of the Unit, Mrs.
M. Gardiner presented Mrs. D.
Warren with a cup and saucer
and cake plate for which Mrs.
Warren expressed her thanks.
A picnic supper was enjoyed.
Sorority sisters
at wiener roast
The Sorority members
entertained their husbands at an
Old-fashioned Wiener Roast,
Tuesday evening. It was the last
meeting of the season for the
group.
Bob and Pat Fletcher were
host and hostess at the Fletcher
cottage, Ducharme Beach.
Entertainment was games and
an old-fashioned singsong.
In charge of planning the
event were Mrs. Bob Chaffe,
Mrs. Joe Wooden, Mrs. Ted
Jones, Mrs. Richard Weber and
Mrs. Kevin Delbridge.

Woodham, became the bride of
Gary Kenneth Simpson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Simpson,
RR 1 Kirkton, at a wedding in
Elimville United Church, May
24, with Rev. Stuart Miner
officiating.
Music was provided by Mrs.
Philip Johns. Mrs. Russell Lee
and Mrs. Ross Mathers sang
"The Wedding Prayer" and
"Bless This House."
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a
floor-length gown of white silk
organza over satin. The sleeveless
bodice was highlighted by a
stand-up collar while the gown
was an elegant slimmer line.
Delicate bands of chantilly lace
formed streamers from neckline
to hem and were accented with
pastel yellow satin ribbon, To
complete her bridal outfit, she
wore a cathedral nylon illusion
veil completely silhouetted with
matching scalloped chantilly lace
and caught up by a cap of Swiss
guipure lace petals and tiny seed
pearls. She carried a Bible with a
white orchici and streamers on
stephanotis and ivy on white
ribbon.
Matron of honour was Miss
Sue Anne Lindenfield, Exeter.
Bridesmaids were Miss Janet
Hern, sister of the bride and Miss
Ellen Simpson, sister of the
groom.
They were gowned alike in
floor-length gowns of mint green
silk brocade fashioned with
empire waists and bouffant
sleeves. The bodices and trains
were accented by matching
bows. They wore yellow and
white daisies in their hair and
carried bouquets of yellow and
white daisies with yellow ribbon
streamers.
The flower girl was Cheryl
Parsons, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Bev Parsons, Exeter, and a
cousin of the bride. Her dress
was a simple A-line dress with
bouffant sleeves made from
yellow silk brocade. She wore
yellow and white daisies in her
hair and carried a nosegay of
tinted yellow carnations.
Best man was Brian Hern,
brother of the bride. Ushers
were Gary Hem, brother of the
bride and Ronald Clarke, cousin
of the groom, St. Marys.
At the wedding reception in
the church parlors, the bride's
mother greeted guests in a pink
knitted lace dress, matching hat
and black accessories. She wore
a corsage of pink roses and
stephanotis.
The groom's mother chose a
pale blue coat and dress
ensemble with white accessories
and a corsage of pink sweetheart
roses.
For a honeymoon trip to
parts of Northern and Eastern
Ontario the bride changed to a
light blue A-line dress accented
with leg o'mutton sleeves. She
wore a white hat and navy
accessories and a white orchid
corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Simpson are
residing at Victoria Park
Apartments, Exeter.

and Mrs. Morris Denomme were
united in marriage Friday at Ou
Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

performed the double-ring
ceremony amid, baskets of
purple and white lilacs and
Purple mums.
Mrs. Pat Meidinger provided
the wedding music and
accompanied the soloist, Mrs.
Doreen Browning.
The bride looked beautiful as
she was escorted down the aisle
on the arm of her father. She
wore a floor-length gown of
lagoda crepe fashioned with a
yolk of guipure lace in a
mandrin effect, with below the
elbow sleeves in the same trim
that was used to outline the
empire look. A bowed
detachable train from the back
yolk with a band of the same
lace across the bottom, swept to
a chapel train. A floral cluster of
guipure lace, crystals, pearls, and
taffeta petals held the four tier,
scalloped, French illusion veil.
She carried a white Bible centred
with a white and purple orchid
with sprays of white roses, ivy
and fern.
Matron of honour was the
bride's sister, Mrs. June
Anderson, Exeter, who wore a
floor-length gown of lilac
chiffon with guipure lace and
daisy appliqued yolk, cap sleeves
and full-length back panel. Her
headdress was a purple velvet
bow with lilac tulle veil. She
carried a basket effect
arrangement of purple roses, ivy
and fern with purple ribbons.
Miss Joanne Ziler, niece of
the groom, Dashwood, looked
charming gowned in a
floor-length orchid crepe gown
trimmed with white lace and
orchid velvet trim. Her outfit
was completed by an orchid bow
headpiece. She carried a
miniature bouquet similar to the
one carried by the maid of
honor.
Ringbearer was Michael Ziler,
nephew of the groom,
Dashwood. He carried a heart
shaped orchid crepe pillow with
white lace and velvet trim.
Best man was Dave Rader,
Dashwood. Ushers were Borden
Anderson, brother-in-law of the
bride, Exeter and Lorne Ziler,
brother-in-law of the groom,
Dashwood.
UCW ladies to unite
into existing four units

was then presented with a table
lamp.
Mrs. Marie Brunslow led in
the worship service which had as
its general theme "Christian
Service."
Members of Main Street UCW
then joined the gathering and
Mrs. Beth Babensee, president of
Huron-Perth Presbyterial
presided for a business meeting.
The motion was carried that
the executive of the James
Street UCW be the executive for
the UCW of the Exeter United
Church Pastoral Charge until the
end of the year. All members
will be absorbed into the
existing four units.
President Mrs. Celia Thomson
conducted a brief business
session after which tea was
served.
George Vriese takes this
