LAWRENCE EDWARD AMOS Scitex% f)ealazdute Baskets of mauve gladioli and pink and purple mums graced the chancel of the Church of God, Grand Bend, April 26 for the wedding of Darlene Maurine , Desjardine and John (Jack) Russell Schenk. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Desjardine, Grand Bend, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schenk, Dashwood. Rev. E.J. Wattam officiated at the ceremony. Organist Mrs. Verona Hayter accompanied the soloist, Mrs. E.J. Wattam, On the arm of her father, the bride was stunning in a floor-length wedding gown of white French lagoda and the most delicate chantilly lace. The basically fitted gown featured a scooped neckline, long lilypoint lace sleeves and a scalloped coat effect of the same chantilly lace. This cascaded at back to a light sweep train. To complete her bridal ensemble, she wore a French pure silk illusion fingertip veil caught up by a headdress of Swiss guipure lace petals and tiny pearls. She carried eighteen pink roses, stephanotis and mauve mums with trailing ivy. Maid of honor was Miss Joan Desjardine, Exeter. Mary Lou Schenk, Dashwood; Miss Judy Smith, Exeter; and Miss Diane Desjardine, Grand Bend were the bridesmaids. Flowergirl was Miss Jecqueline Winegarden, Grand Bend. They were gowned alike in floor-length gowns of mauve crepe with deep purple sashes and matching headdresses. They carried nosegays of pink carnations, mauve mums and purple status. Delmar Miller, uncle of the groom, Dashwood, was best man. Ushers were Eugene Guenther, Dashwood; David Rader, Dashwood; and Ken Stubbs, Thedford. Ringbearer was Tommy Dinney, Crediton. The wedding dinner was served in the basement of the church. To receive her guests, the bride's mother chose a rose knit jacket dress, navy accessories and a corsage of white carnations tipped with pink. She was assisted by the groom's mother who had selected a textured satin coat and dress ensemble of capri blue, matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations tipped with pink. For travelling to Ottawa, the bride changed to a yellow two-piece suit, black accessories and a corsage of white roses and yellow mums. The young couple will live in Grand Bend. limad - Rev. H.G. Zurbrigg, Crediton, solemnized the marriage of Carol Ann Hendrick, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond R. Hendrick, Crediton, to Lawrence Edward Amos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Amos, RR 2 Ailsa Craig, in Zion United Church, Crediton, May 10 amid baskets of coral gladioli, large white mums, ferns and candelabra. Miss Doris Schwartz and Mrs. Howard Zurbrigg, both of Crediton, sang "Wedding Prayer", "The Lord's 'Prayer" and "Bless Us Oh Lord" accompanied by Mrs. Paul Schenk, Crediton, at the organ. Given in marriage by her father, the bride looked stunning in her floor-length wedding gown of white silk organza over French peau de faille. The basic skimmer line was accented by the most delicate imported Swiss eyelet lace forming a scalloped coat effect at the front. The wrist-length monk sleeves were also finished with the same handclipped lace. The main centre of attention was focused on the detachable chapel train cascading from the back shoulders, and completely silhouetted with narrow appliques of Swiss eyelet. To complete her bridal outfit, the bride chose a chapel length four-tiered French illusion veil which was held by a cap of guipure lace petals. She carried a cascade of four dozen white roses including a half dozen coral roses and trailing ivy. Maid of honour was Miss Margaret Haist, cousin of the bride, of London. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ambrose Koricina, sister of the groom, Ailsa Craig, Mrs. Howard Hendrick, Crediton, and Mrs. Donald Hendrick, Wyoming. Miss Pamela Hendrick, Wyoming, was the flowergirl. The attendants provided a colourful background in their floor-length gowns of Mango worsted silk. Semi-fitted A-line skirts fell from fitted bodices of matching Swiss guipure lace, forming raised jewel necklines and short cap sleeves. Panels fell at the back from the empire waists. They wore matching picture hats and carried arm bouquets of yellow and white snapdragons with light green ribbon. She wore a matching picture hat and carried a basket of yellow and white daisies with a coral ribbon. Best man was Allen Amos, brother of, the groom, Ailsa Craig. Ushers were Donald Hendrick, Wyoming, and Howard Hendrick, Crediton, brothers of the bride and Ambrose Koricina of Ailsa Craig. Ring bearer was Michael Koricina, nephew of the groom, Ailsa Craig. The reception was held in the church parlors.
