necessary training and guidance
to help these unfortunate young-
sters grow into useful, happy
citizens.
It is vital work. And you are
invited to help.

these seeds in your window box
or garden. Then plant a seed of

Baskets of mauve gladioli and
pink and purple mums graced
the chancel of the Church of
God, Grand Bend, April 26 for
the wedding of Darlene Maurine
, Desjardine and John (Jack)
Russell Schenk.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Desjardine,
Grand Bend, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Schenk, Dashwood.
Rev. E.J. Wattam officiated
at the ceremony. Organist Mrs.
Verona Hayter accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. E.J. Wattam,
On the arm of her father, the
bride was stunning in a
floor-length wedding gown of
white French lagoda and the
most delicate chantilly lace. The
basically fitted gown featured a
scooped neckline, long lilypoint
lace sleeves and a scalloped coat
effect of the same chantilly lace.
This cascaded at back to a light
sweep train. To complete her
bridal ensemble, she wore a
French pure silk illusion
fingertip veil caught up by a
headdress of Swiss guipure lace
petals and tiny pearls. She
carried eighteen pink roses,
stephanotis and mauve mums
with trailing ivy.
Maid of honor was Miss Joan
Desjardine, Exeter. Mary Lou
Schenk, Dashwood; Miss Judy
Smith, Exeter; and Miss Diane
Desjardine, Grand Bend were the
bridesmaids. Flowergirl was Miss
Jecqueline Winegarden, Grand
Bend.
They were gowned alike in
floor-length gowns of mauve
crepe with deep purple sashes
and matching headdresses. They
carried nosegays of pink
carnations, mauve mums and
purple status.
Delmar Miller, uncle of the
groom, Dashwood, was best
man. Ushers were Eugene
Guenther, Dashwood; David
Rader, Dashwood; and Ken
Stubbs, Thedford. Ringbearer
was Tommy Dinney, Crediton.
The wedding dinner was
served in the basement of the
church. To receive her guests,
the bride's mother chose a rose
knit jacket dress, navy
accessories and a corsage of
white carnations tipped with
pink. She was assisted by the
groom's mother who had
selected a textured satin coat
and dress ensemble of capri blue,
matching accessories and a
corsage of white carnations
tipped with pink.
For travelling to Ottawa, the
bride changed to a yellow
two-piece suit, black accessories
and a corsage of white roses and
yellow mums.
The young couple will live in
Grand Bend.

Rev. H.G. Zurbrigg, Crediton,
solemnized the marriage of Carol
Ann Hendrick, only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Edmond R.
Hendrick, Crediton, to Lawrence
Edward Amos, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph A. Amos, RR 2
Ailsa Craig, in Zion United
Church, Crediton, May 10 amid
baskets of coral gladioli, large
white mums, ferns and
candelabra.
Miss Doris Schwartz and Mrs.
Howard Zurbrigg, both of
Crediton, sang "Wedding
Prayer", "The Lord's 'Prayer"
and "Bless Us Oh Lord"
accompanied by Mrs. Paul
Schenk, Crediton, at the organ.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride looked stunning
in her floor-length wedding
gown of white silk organza over
French peau de faille. The basic
skimmer line was accented by
the most delicate imported Swiss
eyelet lace forming a scalloped
coat effect at the front. The
wrist-length monk sleeves were
also finished with the same
handclipped lace. The main
centre of attention was focused
on the detachable chapel train
cascading from the back
shoulders, and completely
silhouetted with narrow
appliques of Swiss eyelet. To
complete her bridal outfit, the
bride chose a chapel length
four-tiered French illusion veil
which was held by a cap of
guipure lace petals. She carried a
cascade of four dozen white
roses including a half dozen
coral roses and trailing ivy.
Maid of honour was Miss
Margaret Haist, cousin of the
bride, of London. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Ambrose Koricina,
sister of the groom, Ailsa Craig,
Mrs. Howard Hendrick,
Crediton, and Mrs. Donald
Hendrick, Wyoming. Miss
Pamela Hendrick, Wyoming, was
the flowergirl.
The attendants provided a
colourful background in their
floor-length gowns of Mango
worsted silk. Semi-fitted A-line
skirts fell from fitted bodices of
matching Swiss guipure lace,
forming raised jewel necklines
and short cap sleeves. Panels fell
at the back from the empire
waists. They wore matching
picture hats and carried arm
bouquets of yellow and white
snapdragons with light green
ribbon.
The flower girl chose a
floor-length white peau de sole
gown featuring a mango Sash
around the fitted bodice of
white Swiss guipure lace and
