Ontario Fire Marshal was
released this week and shows
that Lucan was the only area
municipality not reporting any
fires during the past year.
However, several area
communities were down in
comparison to their five,-year
average for fires.
Stephen Township recorded
the highest fire loss with
$46,853 property damage. The
five-year average is under
$10,000.
Some of the statistics
combine local communities,
such as Exeter and some of the
areas the Weal fire brigade covers

The fire loss reported for
Exeter was only $1,498 in 12
fires. The five-year average is 10
