Please be aware of children's needs all year round. Be alert to the neglected child in our own community, and report it to your C.A.S. Dell ridge 940#410 eapt Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, was the scene of a pretty yellow and white wedding early Saturday evening when Carol Gertrude Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Herbert Miller, RR 1 Dashwood, became the bride of W,J, Alen Chrysler, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chrysler, Goderich. White lighted tapers in candelabra decorated with yellow streamers and white and yellow feather mums graced the chancel of the church. Rev. Earl Steinman officiated at the ceremony, Wedding music was supplied by the bride's cousin, Miss Janet Miller, Waterloo. On the arm of her father, the bride wore a floor-length empire design sheath of silk sheer over taffeta featuring a lace bodice and lace lilypoint sleeves. Her cascading chapel train was enhanced at back with sheer rosette trim. Her four tiered elbow-length veil of nylon tulle was held by a silk floral jewelled rose and she carried white roses. Her only attendant was Sandra Campbell, Nile. She wore a floor-length maize rosepoint lace gown of cage design featuring short sleeves and a jewel neckline, Her headdress was a matching organza rose and she carried yellow roses touched with orange. Fred Wells, Goderich, was best man. Ushers were Lorne Miller, Dashwood, 'and Ted Chrysler, brother of the groom, Goderich. The wedding dinner was served at the Dashwood Hotel and an evening reception followed in the Dashwood Community Centre. For a honeymoon in the south western United States, the bride changed to a light green dress and coat ensemble, a green hat of tulle flower petals, white accessories and a corsage of white feathered mums. They will reside in Goderich where both are employed at Alexandra General and Marine Hospital, the bride as an RNA and the groom as an orderly and ambulance driver. (p MR. AND MRS. W.J. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Milton Ulch and the late Milton Ulch, Kirkton, and the groom's parents are Mr, and Mrs. Freeman Horne, RR 1 Woodham. The bride wore a floor-length gown of silk organza over taffeta styled on Empire lines and trimmed with lace appliques, The gown featured long lily-point sleeves, a controlled skirt and a full-length train. She carried a banquet of white carnations and shasta daisies. Miss. Sandra Dickey, Exeter, was the maid of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of pale blue organza over taffeta styled on empire lines with a lace bodice. She carried a bouquet of white daisies and yellow carnations, Doug Coward, RR 1 Woodham, was best man. The couple will reside at RR 1 Kirkton. Vootivrag - Scar First Presbyterian Church, Seaforth was the scene of a very lovely spring wedding on April 5 in the evening when Cheryl Ann Scott and Bevan James Bonthron were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. D. O. Fry. The church was decorated with candelabra and Easter lilies. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Betty Scott, Seaforth and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bonthron of Hensell. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, James, wore a white floor length poie-de poiret A-line dress with jewel neckline and full length sleeves. A dotted French silk illusion hooded coat with scalloped edges and bell sleeves was worn over the dress. She carried a bouquet of shasta daisies and blue stephanotis. Maid of honor, Miss Elaine Kennedy of Stratford, was gowned in a pale pink chiffon over crepe floor length dress with cowl neckline and full length sleeves. Miniature roses held a matching tulle headpiece. Her bouquet consisted of shasta daisies and white stephanotis. Bryan Bonthron, Nassau, Bahamas, brother of the groom, was the groomsman. Ushers were Wayne Scott, brother of the bride, Seaforth, and Bill Soldan of Hensall. Mrs. Cleave Coombs sang the "Wedding Prayer" and "My World" accompanied by Mrs. John Cardno at the organ. A reception was held at the Seaforth Curling Club. Mrs. Scott greeted the guests wearing a navy and white two-piece crepe ensemble, navy accessories with corsage of red and white roses. Mrs. Bonthron wore a lime green shantung jewelled coat dress with matching hat and accessories and corsage of tinted green roses. For travelling the bride donned a black and white check ensemble with matching accessories and a corsage of red roses. The couple will reside in Toronto. Guests were present from Toronto, Belleville, Galt, Nassau, Hensall, Exeter and Stratford. Saturday's puppet show was once more discussed and tickets will be out to the various schools in the area. Lunch was served by Mrs. Jack Taylor and Mrs. Bill Schee ffer. The regular meeting of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority was held at the home of Mrs. 13111 Essery, Centralia. Mrs. Essery and Mrs. Jim Hennessey had charge of the program entitled "Your Poise and Charm". It took the form of short skits on courtesies that should be practiced at home, in business, at social outings and in everyday living. A game followed pertaining to poise and charm. Final plans were made for the Founders' Day banquet in Zurich April 29. The new executive brought in a slate of committees for the year. Decision was reached to name 4 the three main methods or potting, pinching, coiling and the slab method. The audience showed a keen interest in her descriptions of the methods by which pottery is decorated. She concluded her talk by comparing parents and children to the clay in the potter's hands noting that the degree of shaping, controlling and firing will determine the worth of the finished product. Lunch was served at the close. James Street United Church UCW held a well attended general meeting in the church parlors April 21. Mrs. William Thomson conducted the business session during which it was decided to pack a bale May 14 and to serve a smorgasbord luncheon May 13. Sunday, May 25 the UCW anniversary service will be held with Rev. Finley Stewart, Kitchener, as guest speaker. Mrs. Maurice Love conducted the worship service. Mrs. Bob Dinney introduced Mrs. Jack Doerr, the guest speaker. Her topic was "My Experience With Clay." Scripture passages dealing with the subject were read after which Mrs. Doerr showed how the history of civilization could be traced from the discovery 'of clay pots. President Mrs. Armstrong opened the meeting. Eleven members answered the roll call by naming their favourite newspaper column and paying their dues. Reports of the standing committee conveners were given. The social welfare committees reported on the cards sent. Choices were made for the short course on "Needlecraft"; senior leaders' training school, "The main dish makes the meal"; and Food Forum "Add a touch of you." Mrs. Fraser Dixon was appointed delegate to the district annual to be held in Lucan United Church May 13. The motto, "A woman is old when she buys her clothes with only the weather in mind," was taken by Mrs. Earl Morley. She also gave the contest which was won by Mrs. Parry Thompson.
