Those who. joined the church were Dianne and Bill Hodge, Michael and Susan Pickering, Ron Pickering and Bruce Russell. The service of dedication was followed by the Kinsmen host hockey night Minor Hockey Night was held Friday night at Hensall Arena sponsored by Hensall Kinsmen. Three hockey games were played, First game featured Goderich vs Hensall Mites with the Goderich team winning 3-0. Goals scored by Steve Arbour, Richard Healy and Michael Nephew. Second game had Hensall Big "0" defeating Goderich 3-0 in a novice game. Hensall goals were scored by Gary Koehler, (2) Doug Smith (1), The big "0" was the W.O.A.A. Novice E Champions. Ontario Provincial Police provided the opposition in the final game with the Kinsmen holding on to win 5-3 after building a 4-0 lead, Goals for Kinsmen were scored by Doug McCaully, Jack Henderson, John Gross, Bruce Horton and Harold Knight. O,P.P. goals were netted by John Wright, B. Hoggarth, G. Barker. The Kinsmen hope to make this an annual event. Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle attended the concert presented by the London Symphony Wednesday evening of last week in the Centennial Hall, London. Charles ,Mickle flew home from Bethlehem, Pa„ last Friday evening to spend a two Week S Mrs, Violet Schwalm, widow of the late Peter Schwalm, passed away in Stratford General Hospital Wednesday, March 26. The former Violet Pfaff of Zurich, she was 84. Mrs. Schwalm with her husband and family took up residence in Hensall 30 years ago, coming from Zurich. Mr. Schwalm predeceased her in November, 1941. A mother of twelve children, one son Mervyn and one • • • 0 vacation with his parents, relatives and friends. This week he is holidaying for a few days in Hamilton. Relatives from Chicago, Hamilton, Kitchener, Camp Borden, Stratford, London, St. Thomas, Thedford, Exeter, Zurich and Hensall, attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Violet, Schwalm, held Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Don Coghlin and Debbie of Atwood, spent the weekend with the latter's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gordon daughter, Mrs. Robert (Laurene) McKenzie, predeceased her. Surviving are five sons, Austin, Stratford; Gordon, Hensall; Lealand, Hamilton; Karl, Camp Borden; Raymond, Hensall and five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (May) O'Hara, London; Mrs. Jack (Violet) MacFarlane, St. Thomas; Mrs. Harold (Nelda) Hansen, Stratford; Mrs. Wm. (Margaret) Wayne, Peachland, B.C.; Mrs.' Donald (Florence) Perdue, Ladner, B.C.; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Public funeral service was held Saturday from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich, conducted by Rev. A. E. Blackwell. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Gerald Hansen, Charles Schwalm, David Schwalm, Robert Schwalm, Richard Schwalm and Glenn McKenzie. Flower bearers were grandsons Peter O'Hara and Terry Schwalm. Hensall firemen responded to a call to the farm home of Mr. & Mrs. Al Hoggarth, RR 2 Kippen Tuesday morning. Overheated pipes were the cause of the disturbance and little damage is reported,- Schwalm and family. Debbie, who has spent the past week with her grandparents, returned with them. Mr. & Mrs. William Simpson of Birmingham, Michigan, visited over the weekend with Mrs. F.G. Bonthron and also with the former's mother, Mrs. Lou - Simpson who is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland and daughter Gwen of Clinton visited this week with Mr. & Mrs. James Sangster and Bradley. Mrs. Bertha MacGregor spent the weekend with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Don MacLaren and granddaughter Jodi in Toronto. Mrs. Harold Parker and Miss Patsy Parker, also Mrs. Edgar Cudmore and Mrs. Alvin Cudmore, attended a trousseau tea in honor of Miss Elsie Miller, bride-elect at Grand Bend on Saturday, Mrs. Gordon Troyer and Mrs. Fred Beer leave this Thursday for Washington, where they will spend the Easter vacation returning Monday. They will visit many places of interest, including the grave of the late president John F. Kennedy in Arlington Cemetery. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Joynt, Toronto, and Dr. W. T. Mrs. Carroll spoke briefly to the group. President Mrs. Garnet Allan presided and welcomed Mrs. Carroll and members. Ten dollars was donated to the cancer fund, $10 to Hensall firemen for the fireworks display and $100 to the Easter seal campaign for crippled children. It was announced that the annual penny sale will be held in May. Members will also take a bus trip in conjunction with Exeter Auxiliary to entertain the veterans at Westminster Hospital, April 9. Ladies will cater to a Kinsmen banquet April 26. Past president Mrs. Harold Campbell presented Mrs. Carroll' with a gift. A penny sale was conducted by Mrs. Howard Smale and Mrs. Vic Stan.
