IRVIN RADER The KW of Calvary United Church and a number of children journeyed by bus to the Bluewater Rest Home, Tuesday, March 18 for the regular birthday party. Mrs. Syd Baker was chairlady. Children taking part were Betty Guenther, Jane Guenther, Brenda Kipfer, Wendy Beaver, Elizabeth Guenther, Barbara Guenther, Cindy Beaver, Kevin Kipfer, Patricia Bender, and Susan Grigg. Mrs. Ken McCrae and Mrs. Hugh Boyle also favoured with piano duets. Rev. Bruce Guy showed pictures of flowers and spoke on them. Mrs. E. R. Guenther presented the birthday gifts. Lunch consisting of birthday cake, ice cream and tea was served by the ladies. Ladies in charge of the program were Mrs. Syd Baker, Mrs, Earl Guenther, Mrs. Ken Specially Reduced, fits most popular cars McCrae and Mrs. Jack Gaiser. Area 4-H girls who are taking the project "Meat in the Menu' enjoyed a bus trip to Schneider's meat plant in Kitchener last Thursday. They also visited Stacey's milk plant at Mitchell. His parents, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Kellerman visited with him during the weekend.. Mrs. Mon is Denotnrne is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Mrs. Frieda Keller has returned from a visit in London. Her grandson, Rusty Gibson, is spending some holidays with her. WILLIAM B. WILLERT William B. Willert, 84, passed away at South Huron Hospital March 25.. He had been hospitalized one week. He resided at the Blue Water Rest Home. His wife, Lenora Lawson, predeceased him. Surviving are his sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hayter, Bluewater Rest Home; Mrs. Rose Isaac, Greenway; and. Mrs. Pearl Statton, Toronto. Another sister, Mrs. Effie Kleinstiver, predeceased him in February, The body is resting at the T. , Harry Hoffman Funeral Home, funeral service today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. E. Steinman officiating. Interment will be in Exeter Cemetery. Meetings of Hibberts Little Lassies were held at the home of Mrs. Chas. Douglas recently, Roll calls were "a raw vegetable and an interesting way to prepare it for a carried lunch," and "My favorite picnic food". Lunches were brought to the meeting and judged. Plans were discussed for the entertainment supper. Group 1 made an apple salad and garlic bread, Misses }leather McPhail, Marilyn Laing and Debbie Wallace attended a meeting at the agricultural coliseum in Stratford and, met their home economist, Miss Sautette, 'the meeting was adjourned by Debbie Wallace. the guest speaker, Alf Bowden, the minister in charge of the two United Churches on the Saugeen Indian Reserve at Southampton. Mr. Bowden, in a very interesting way, told of his work among the people on the reserve. A short question period followed. Rev. John King thanked Mr. Bowden for enlightening the group on his work and telling of the use that is made of the White Gifts at Christmas. For the past several years the Woodham Sunday School has sent their White Gifts and a bale of used clothing to the reserve. Mr. and Mrs. Bowden were guests for the night with Mr. and Mrs. Don Brine. ACW St. Paul's ACW met at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Anderson of Woodham Thursday evening. The devotions were in the charge of Mrs. T. Creery and Mrs. M. Blackler. The convener of the meeting, Mrs. Gerald Paul, gave an excellent paper discussion of church history and religious teaching in the schools. At the conclusion of the meeting lunch was provided by Mrs. D. Nesbitt, Mrs. A. Irvine and hostess.
