A skit "The Delegates" with and Mr. & Mrs. Thos Simpson, London, were callers with Mr. & Mrs. Alex Baillie during last week. Mr. & Mrs. Cleve Pullman attended a family gathering at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jack Kirkham, Mitchell, Sunday, honoring the birthday of Mrs. Kirkham. Mr. & Mrs. Arvid Beitans, Dace and Inta were guests at the Jacobson—Balodis wedding Saturday at the Detroit Latvian Church. Reception was at the Danish Hall. PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs. Harold Patterson and Gail spent Saturday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Knight. Mrs. Ray Cann and Cheryl spent the past weekend in Guelph and attended University of Guelph's College Royal Open House. Group 2 of the UCW catered to the Federation of Agriculture Banquet in the church basement last Tuesday evening. Miss Barbara Miller had her tonsils removed Friday morning at South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Cann and Cheryl and Scot Hodgert were Saturday evening guests with Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde. Miss Patricia Miner of Sarnia is spending the holidays with her parents, Rev. Stewart & Mrs. Miner. Misses Rhonda and Vicki Mayer of Toronto are visiting with their grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Mayer. John Etherington left Sunday for Libia. Miss Margaret Kernick of MacDonald Hall, Guelph, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Donald Kernick. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Hackney left Saturday for Florida. More Hensall News Bride feted by friends Miss Sharon Smale, bride-elect of April was honored at a shower held in the Legion. Hall, Hensall, attended by 60 neighbours, friends and relatives Friday evening. The hall was lovely in pink and white motif arranged by Mrs. Grant McClinchey. The presentation address to the bride-elect was read by Miss Susie Randall, and gifts were presented by Kathy Munn and Pauline Bell. Miss Beverly Randall assisted Miss Smale in unwrapping the gifts and reading the cards. Mrs. J.E, McEwen compiled the bride's book which was passed around. Mrs. Clarence Reid arranged the shower at which many beautiful gifts were received by the guest of honor. Luncheon was served. Hensall youth gets 8 goals Kevin Buchanan of Hensall scored eight goals in two "D" series wins by Hensall in the 20th annual Young Canada week peewee hockey tournament at Goderich Saturday. With Buchanan's first five goals, Hensall blanked Belmore 10-0. Buchanan added three more in Hensall's 5-3 victory over Clinton Canadian Forces Base. Kevin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Buchanan. WI members to Huronview Mrs. Clarence Reid, Mrs. Elizabeth Riley and Mrs. R. A. Orr representing Hensall W.I. attended the meeting of Huronview Auxiliary Monday, held in the craft room where Mrs. Alex McGregor was recently appointed new craft supervisor. A spring tea will be held May 28. Supervisor Mrs. Johnston took the group on a conducted tour of the kitchen and storeroom. By MRS. WELLWOOD GILL The Afternoon Unit of the Grand Bend UCW met Thursday with about 50 ladies in attendance. Mrs. Wm. Love opened the meeting with a poem. Mrs. Wellington Baker conducted the worship period assisted by Mrs. W. Gill. Mrs. W. Love presided for the business. Mrs. Elgin Webb introduced the guest speaker, Miss Gail McCall, who spoke about the women's division of the Rescue Mission in London. Mrs. Alan Miller and Mrs. Clarke Kennedy sang a duet. Members were present from the Church of God and St. John's-by-the-lake Anglican Church. A social half hour followed. A large bale of good used clothing and three quilts 'made by the Green Acres ladies were sent to the Rescue Mission with Miss McCall. ) 1
