Lucan-liderton Jets moved a
step closer to clinching first
place in the Ontario Hockey
Association Intermediate "B"
Western Division by downing the
Georgetown Raiders, leaders of
the eastern section by a 7.1
count at Centralia, Tuesday
night.
The Jets have 38 points while
the Seaforth Beavers and
Durham Hurkies are tied for,
second spot with 36 points
apiece. The L-I club has played
one game less than either of
their closest opposition.

championship and a single
victory would assure a tie for the
top spot.
They were in Seaforth last
night, Wednesday for an
important contest with the
Beavers, travel to Georgetown,

the Durham Huskies at the
Huron Park arena, Sunday
afternoon at 1,30.
The Seaforth Beavers on a 12
game winning streak were
stopped rudely last week losing
to Durham and Elmira by
respective scores of 15-3 and
7.2, They rallied again Tuesday
night to down Port Elgin and
keep their hopes alive for a shot
at first place.
The Lucan-ilderton club has
suffered four losses to date while
Seaforth and Durham have each
lost six games.
The final two games of the
regular pee wee schedule
produced some very good
hockey. The first game between
the Aces and Flyers ended in a 2
all tie and the game was just as
close as the score indicates,
Brad Roelofson and Tony
MacDonald were the goal scorers
for the Flyers. Brad Datars and
John Wuerth were marksmen for
the Aces,
The Jets defeated Hawks 4-2
in a game that could have gone
either way. Wayne Regier was
top scorer with 2 goals. Jeff
Jensen and Matthew Muller each
added a single for the Jets.
Brian Taylor, the top goal
scorer for the Hawks was
responsible for both goals. The
Flyers by virtue of the first place
finish meet the third place
Hawks in a two out of three
series. First game Saturday from
8 to 9.
The second place Jets meet
the Aces who finished last in a
two out of three series and their
first game is Saturday from 9 to
10, all players should be here
and ready to play at game time.
The Rangers managed to hang
on to the lead and defeated
Boston 7-6 this is the largest
scoring game of the season in
novice hockey.
Paul Pooley and John Van
Gerwen each scored two goals
with singles added by Perry
Pooley, Robert Guenther and
Norm McCauley for Rangers.
Boston scorers were Wally
Fydenchuck and Tom Hayter 2
goals each with singles by Ken
Pinder and Marty Becker.
There was no Bantam hockey
last week but this Saturday at

A four goal scoring spurt in
the second period enabled the
Jets to turn in a convincing 7-1
win over the Georgetown club,
Tuesday.
Barry Hearn, the Jets' top

getting on the scoreboard,
converting a pass from Ron
Ryan into the Georgetown net
