The trick to Ty repairing is skill and experience The Lucan-Ilderton Jets with two succesive wins in Ontario Hockey Association Intermediate "Bn play over the past week have opened up a four point lead in first place in the western division. The Jets scored a 7.2 win over the Cheltenham Harvesters on Huron Park ice, Wednesday and travelled to Elmira, Sunday to edge the Polar Kings 4-2. The leagne-leading Jets have a total of 28 points on 14 wins in 16 starts. The Durham Huskies are in second spot with 24 points and Elmira and Seaforth are deadlocked for third spot with equal point totals of 18, Last night, 'Wednesday, the Lucan-Ilderton boys entertained the second place Durham club at Centralia and will now be idle until next Tuesday when they meet the Elmira Polar Kings in a return match at the Huron Park arena. The game in Elmira Sunday was marred with a stick swinging incident when L-I defenceman Ken I,,oft was cut for 15 stitches near his right eye, Brian Baird of the Elmira club received a match penalty for swinging his stick at Loft and will likely face a suspension. In the games itself, the Polar Kings turned in a strong performance in the first period to take a 1-0 lead on a goal by Howie McDonald, At the 4.57 mark of the second session, Loft tied the score with a goal from directly in front of the net on a pass-out from the right corner from Bill McIntosh, Jack Nairn was the originator of the scoring play. At 10.30 of the same period with Baird out of the game and a team-mate serving his five minute sentence, McIntosh let a long screen shot go along the ice that found its way into the Elmira net to put the Jets in front to stay., Hard-working Jim Bender tipped in a slap shot from the stick of bill McIntosh at 15.02 to put the Jets up by two goals. The IA goal output for the game was completed near the midway mark of the third period when Barry Hearn sewed on a power play started by Jack Nairn. Nairn dug the puck out of the right corner to the side of the Elmira net and passed it back to the blue line to Don Urbshott who faked a pass to the opposite point and then slid a pass to the uncovered Hearn for the insurance goal, Rick Baird completed the Elmira scoring, three minutes later on another play deflecting in a shot from the left point, McIntosh and Nairn were the top point getters for the winners with three each and Wayne Parkinson turned in solid performance in goal. A four goal scoring splurge in the third period enabled the Jets to hang up a 7.2 win over the Cheltenham club in Centralia, Wednesday. The score was tied 1.1 at the end of the first period and each club scored single goals early in the second before the Jets took a slim 3-2 lead as the period was coming to a close, Jamie Robb opened the scoring for the L-1 club shortly after seven minutes had elapsed in the game on a play with Barry Hearn and Jack Nairn. Jack Judge beat Wayne Parkinson in the Lucan-Ilderton nets about ten minutes later to send the clubs to their first rest on even terms. In the middle stanza, Doug Galloway and Nairn put the Jets out in front while Gard Keates replied for Cheltenham. The third period was dominated by the Jets' strong skating. Doug Galloway added his second score of the game and single scores were fired by Bill Neil, Dusty Aldis and Bill McIntosh.
