Retiring men
receive plaudits
Retiring councillors Joe
Wooden and Jim Newby were
given plaudits by their fellow
members at the last session of
the year for Exeter Council,
last Monday.
Mayor Jack Delbridge
congratulated the two men on
their co-operation during their
terms of office and noted they
would be missed on council.
Most other members of
council also expressed regrets at
losing the two men.
Wooden wished the 1969
council every success and said
his only regret in his seven years
on council was the fact he never
got to attend the Ontario Good
Roads convention.
"I will follow with interest
the proceedings of this august
body," he added.
Following the meeting,
council members and the T-A
editor Bill Batten were
entertained by Mr. and Mrs.
Wooden.
