Commitment " formed the
background for the discussion at
the Hi-C meeting in Fellowship
Hall Sunday evening.
The committee in charge was
Garry Alderdice, Bill Hoy, and
Joey Reaburn. Hymns with a
beat were used during the
singing period.
Bill Hoy read a very timely
article about responsibility to
the less fortunate people around
the world at Christmastime.
Mary Mock and Donna
Forrest volunteered to trim the
Christmas Tree in the church
foyer.
The Christmas meeting will be
December 22 with Shirley
Brintnell, Jean Cole and Nancy
Traquair in charge. -
Games were conducted by
Garry Alderdice.

The friendship and visitation
committee of Hensall United
Church delivered 31 attractive•
Christmas boxes Tuesday to
shut-ins of the church in the
village, Queensway Nursing
Home, Blue Water Rest. Home,
Huronview and South Huron
Hospital, Exeter.
In charge of the project were
Mrs. R.J. Drysdale, convener,
Mrs. Lorne Hay, Mrs. Albert
Shirray, Mrs. Stanley Mitchell,
Mrs. W.J. Clement, Mrs. Jack
Simmons and Mrs. Wilmer
Ferguson.
Brucefield lady
dies in Exeter
Mrs. William Victor Dinnin of
Brucefield, passPd away Sunday
in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter.
The former Ella Julia
Stoneman, she was in her 87th
year.
She is survived by three sons,
Victor, Zurich; Arthur,
Clarkson; Harry, Petrolia; three
daughters, Mrs. E. (Wilma)
Jackman, Rochester, Mich; Mrs.
E. (Audrey) Munn, Waterloo;
Mrs. R. (Laura) Barr, Burlington;
one brother, Carl Stoneman,
Cromarty; one sister Mrs. Edith
Barnes, Kitchener; 12'
grandchildren.
Mr. Dinnin passed away in
May 1963 arid one son, Albert,
predeceased her in 1958.
Public funeral service was held
from Bonthron Funeral Home,
Hensall, Wednesday with Rev.
E .D Stu art officiating.
Interment was in McTaggarts
Cemetery.

throughout the meeting. Mrs.
McAllister gave a devotional on
"A New Day Morning" and
offered prayer. Mrs, Eric Luther
favoured with a solo "0 Holy
Night" accompanied by her son
Don at the piano.
The study book was taken by
Mrs. Harry Caldwell on "Rejoice
at Christmas Too" by F. Cohen,
reconsideration of what it is to
be a Jew.
Mrs. T. Sherritt reported on
finance& Christmas stocking
plans were finalized and they are
to be brought in and completed
by December 16 at the general
meeting.

of officers for 1969: leader, Mrs.
Kennedy widow

Mrs. Sim Roobol received an
acknowledgement this week
from Mrs. Ethel Kennedy,
widow of the late Senator
Robert F. Kennedy. Mrs.
Roobol sent an expression of
sympathy to Mrs. Kennedy at
the time of the Senator's death.
A photo of • Senator Robert
Kennedy was enclosed in the
letter.
WHITE GIFT SUNDAY
The Sunday School Christmas
program and White Gift Service
will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. in
the church school.
Hensall Legion Hall lovely in
Christmas motif was the setting
last Tuesday for the annual
Christmas party of the Legion
Ladies Auxiliary attended by 26
members.
President Mrs. Garnet Allan
chaired the meeting. Ten dollars
was donated to the Chamber of
Commerce and plans were made
for the New Years Eve party to
be held at the local Arena.

The euchre was sponsored by
the CP&T committee.
