All former members were guests. Mrs. Everett Skinner was in charge of the registration when nearly 100 signed the book. Mrs. Judson Dykeman, Mrs, John Coward and Mrs. Ivan Brock were the welcoming • committee along with the president, Mrs. Theron Creery and vice president, Mrs. Harold Carroll. Mrs. Toni Hern and Mrs. Jackson Woods were in charge of the decorating. Mrs. Delmer Skinner and Mrs. • Ross Skinner were in charge of the Memorial. Twenty members have passed away since the Institute was organized in March 1948. Days. 3 BERNINA By MRS. WILLIAM ROHDE Mr. & Mrs. Hedley May of Exeter haVe spent the past two weeks with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Hodgert. Mrs. William Rohde held an executive meeting of the United Church Women Thursday evening to plan the programs for next year. Mr. & Mrs. Milton Sleamon, Mrs. William Thomson of Exeter, Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde called at the Needham Funeral Home, London, where the late Bert Gardiner lay at rest. They later visited with Mrs. Marguerite Gibson and Mrs, Ferguson and Mrs. Jean Mair. Mrs, Lome Listoen and Yvonne left Trenton last Wednesday evening for Germany. They have been spending a few weeks with relatives here and in Exeter. Mrs, Floyd Stewart, MrS. William Rohde, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Millet, Rev. Stewart Miner, Jack Stewart, Wilfred liunkin, Arnold Cann, Donald Ketnick and Lloyd Ballantyne attended the Official board meeting at Elimville United Church Monday evening. Mrs. Harold Itabensee of StratfOrd and Rev. Ross Crosby' of St. Marys, members from Presbytery also attended the meeting Dennis Duncan, Jack Hodgert, Drian Miller, Dennis Passmore and Pant Pawnor° attended the Royal Winter Pair, Toronto, Monday. Elimville WI sees ceramics By MRS. ROSS SKINNER The November Meeting of the Elimville Institute was held • Wednesday evening. President Mrs. Theron Creery was in charge for the business. Roll call was answered by "Different Uses of Apples." The program, Agriculture and Canadian Industries was convened by Mrs, Norman Brock and Mrs. Philip Johns. The motto, "Make it well, tell it well and it will sell well" was given by Mrs. Howard Pym. Mrs. Colleen Clayborne sang two solos. Mrs. Lloyd Miller of Staffa was the guest and gave a demonstration on ceramic tiles. • Mrs. Murray Coward and her committee had a successful bazaar table. Mrs. Ivan Brock and her committee will be holding a euchre at the hall December 2. Ruth Skinner, Mrs. Gilbert Johns, Mrs. Gerald Hem and Mrs. Harold Taylor. Mrs. Kenneth Johns, the first president, gave an outline of the organizational meeting held in 1948. Mrs. Grant Skinner played an accordion number and Miss Connie Miners performed a ballet dance. Other musical numbers were a solo by Mrs. Clayborne; a quartette consisting of Mrs. Franklin Skinner, Mrs. Horace Delbridge, Mrs. Philip Hem and Mrs. Ross Skinner; and a skit presented by serveral South Huron ladies at the area convention. The kitchen orchestra gave several numbers. Mrs. W. Mack of Crediton spoke a few words. A dutch auction was enjoyed after the program with Mrs. Bev. Parsons, Mrs. Sam Skinner and Mrs. Lorne Elford in charge. Mrs. Harold Carroll was in charge of the lighting of the birthday candles with all the presidents taking part. Lunch was served at the close by Mrs. Bison Lynn and her committee, The fall executive meeting pf Huron—Perth Presbyterial United Church ..Women was in Liethel,Munro Church, November 1,2, Fifty-eight of the 99 groups comprising this Presbyterial were represented. Two work shops were conducted ,prior .0) the general. meeting. Mrs Clyesdale of St. Marys lead the group composed: of the local UCW presidents on discussions relating to leadership development. ..In order to - give effective leadership, an effort must be .made to involve all the UCW members and the church membership at large, Consideration should be given to varied programs of interest to the members, Mrs. Harold Babensee, president of • Huron-Perth Presbyterial, the vice.president and - the regional presidents reviewed and evaluated the programs featured at the regional meetings held in October, Mrs. Babensee later presided at the meeting which followed when the .secretaries presented their reports, ,'({RAVAi cigtt:74 rald evWrazi,i zst:i *toed iiiTtid-wridmim5:7.i6•05t,z‘o 4x MOLDED WALDORF SALAD 1 small lime or apple jelly powder 1 cup boiling water '/2 cup cold water 11/2 cups diced apples (skins left on) 1/4 cup diced celery 1/4 cup chopped pecans 1 cup miniature marshmallows 1/4 cup mayonnaise 'A cup whipping cream, whipped METHOD: Dissolve jelly in boiling water. Add cold water and chill until slightly thickened. Combine apples, celery, pecans, marshmallows and mayonnaise. When jelly mixture is egg white consistency, fold in apple mixture. Fold in whipping cream. Turn into four-cup mold and chill until firm. Unmold on serving tray and garnish with apple slices and frosted grapes.
