themselves guests of honor at a
reception at the Dashwood
Community Centre.
Seventy-five guests were
present from Kitchener,
Waterloo, Elmira, Detroit and
Dashwood.
They were recipients of many

After a delay of more than
two weeks, two more games

Rec softball leagee,

lead the Pceter Legion

five Series- The fourth genie is
slated for E4eter Community
Park, Sunday afternoon,
The B-A's took the first game
of the series several weeks ago
and then the set was held up
when the two eitibS failed to
agree on playing dates.
Wednesday, John Snell's 98's
downed the Legion 10-5 to take
a stranglehold on the series, but
the Vets fought back with a 4-1
win Tuesday night to force
another game.
The fourth game of the.series
is expected to be played Sunday
afternoon.
PLAY SHORT-HANDED
The Legion club showed up
for Tuesday's game with only
eight players and bpi/owed Bob
Jones frPm the B-A's and went
on to post,a 4-1 decision.
Two runs in the second
inning op two Walks and a single
from the bat of Al Flynn gave
the Legion boys enough scoring
to.stay ahead,
Pitcher Dick Bennett's single
and a couple of errors produced
the third and fourth. Legion
markers in the fifth.
The only B-A run came on a
lead-off home run in the fourth

jewelry demonstration. Mrs.

attended the party.
Mr. & Mrs. Ron Carroll, Ian
and Brenda, visited their great
uncle, Clarence Fletcher,
Woodham, Sunday.

Exeter were Sunday guests with
Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Davis,

Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis

Mrs. Warren Clarke and Jean.
They also drove to the locks at
Welland and Niagara Falls. While
there, Mrs. MacDonald received
word of the sudden death of her
uncle, Gordon Maines of
Russeldale.

The UCW of Calvary United
Church held their October
meeting with the theme
Thanksgiving. Mrs. Lloyd
Eagleson was convener and also
read the chapter in the study
book on Japan.
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe gave a
reading. Judy and Bonnie Mason
sang a duet. Mrs. J. M. Tiernan
was pianist.
Mrs. Carl Oestreicher read a
poem after which the members
presented their thankoffering
boxes.
President Mrs. Eben Weigand
presided for the business.
Twenty-three members were

Brucefield United Church was
the setting October 12 for the
wedding of Miss Vivian Gayle
Robinson, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Reginald Robinson, RR. 3,
Kippen, and Robert James
Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
Charles Wilson, Goderich.
The ceremony was performed
by Rev. Donald Stuart amid a
setting of yellow and bronze
mums.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was attired in a
dress of cloud white delustered
satin beautifully detailed with
bands of French lace threaded in
ribbon following the long lines
of the dress and chapel train.
She carried a crescent of
sweetheart talisman roses on a
white Bible.
Mrs. Dawn Rathwell,
Brucefield, was matron of honor
for her sister, and bridesmaids
were another sister, Cindy Lou
Robinson and Carol Walters,
Stratford. They wore
floor-length mint green chiffon
crepe over taffeta skirts topped
with green velvet bodices and
matching short veiled
headpieces.
Mike Wilson, Goderich, was
best man. Guests from Toronto,
Chatham, Welland, Guelph,
London, Stratford, Thamesville
and the surrounding area were
ushered by Wilmer Waltersand
Brian Dalters, Stratford, and
Everett Robinson, brother of the
bride.
The wedding dinner was
served in the church basement.
The bride's mother received her
guests wearing an antique gold
silk dress with bands of gold
beads garnishing the sleeves and
neckline and a brocade cloche in
shades of toast and gold. The
groom's mother assisted in an
ensemble of French green silk
worsted with matching
handmade hat.
For a honeymoon to points
north and the USA, the bride
wore an Albratros wool suit with
fur and dark brown accessories.
The couple will reside in
Goderich.
W. H. COOPER
W. H. Cooper, 67, Kippen,
passed away in Victoria
Hospital, London, Saturday
where he had been a patient
since July,
Mr, Cooper farMed and was a
thresher for 22 years. He was a
member of Kippen -United
Church.

25 YEARS WED
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stumpf of
Kitchener were pleasantly

Cooper, Gary and Jack Cooper,
Michael Cooper and Dennis
Harkness.
