Allen & Company Ltd. WHOLESALE PLUMBING SUPPLIES .4••••••••., We extend sincere best wishes to ED FINK on the opening of his attractive APARTMENTS New Henson housing, units c ombine town. house and apartment qualities businessman Ed Fink is rapidly completing construction of an 11-unit apartment building, Actually, the development is a bit of a grosa between apartments and town houses, with the advantages of both types of,accommodation being used by the Hensel' man. The Units are single-storey construction giving the privaeY of a town house, but at the same time they have the compactness of an apartment unit. Appropriately called "The Maples", in reference to the many large shade trees in the area, the complex already consists of seven units and Mr, Fink plans to have the other four started in the very near future, One wilt has already been rented and others are now available for occupancy, They are located West of the arena and the large picture windows in some of the units look onto the attractive recreation grounds behind the arena. The 11 units are built in a U-shape looking onto a 110-foot court in the centre which will be grassed and contain an attractive fountain, fish pool and flag pole. A walkway runs in front of each unit and then cuts through the centre past the fountain, The units were cleSigned by Mr. Fink and his pitribing, heating and electrical firm 041 a considerable P9rtion of the work, AS may be expected, there was no skimping on any of the electrical Or plumbing work in the units, which vary between 400 and 500 square feet each. For example, there are three double electrical outlets in each bedroom and seven double electrical outlets in the living•clining room areas. Each unit also has a hot water tank and a complete bath. The units will be "hydronically" heated with an oil fed boiler suppling the heat for the hot water system, All the piping in the complex is underground and, there is no waste space in any of the units. A fire wall separates each unit. Two large utility rooms in each corner of the complex will house two washers and dryers each, as well as working space for tenants. One of the utility rooms will also feature a 16' by 16' assembly room where tenants may get together to entertain friends or enjoy cards or other games with their neighbors al. The Maples, Mr,, Fink Pointed out he built the complex with the thought in mind they would be suitable for semi-retired couples, but his first tenant is a bachelor teacher, so he sayS they apparently will appeal to others in this category also, The rent runs from $78 a — Please turn to page 7 By MRS.
