Huron County's interim
.committee appointed to pave
the way for the new Huron
'County Board of Education to
come into being January 1,
1969, has found its efforts
somewhat futile.
"Frankly, there is not a great
deal happening," committeeman
Morgan Smith told the T-A in a
telephone interview Wednesday.
"We made some effort to take
action and it fell like a clunk."
Smith went on to explain the
interim committee agreed it
would not be justified to make
decisions for the new board. He
said the new board would have
the authority to maintain the
present boards for the first six
months in 1969, and it is hoped
that during that time, amicable
decisions can be reached for the
function of the new board.
