In addition to the usual ground rule discussions before a ball game, Sunday's OBA playoff game in

Two former residents die
Enjoy panel at Clandeboye

CLANDEBOYE
Funeral service was held
Monday in Ridgeway for William
Henry Gilmour, 65, formerly of
Clandeboye.
The son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. John Gilmour (Ellen Dagg),
he has a twin brother, Thomas
Gilmour at Clandeboye who
survives.
He was married to the former
Margaret Harrison who also
survives. The couple celebrated
their 40th wedding anniversary
in June,
Rev. Charles Stanger
officiated at the funeral service
at the Clendenning Funeral
Home. Interment was in
Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery.
Other survivors include five
daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Phyllis)
Sider and Mrs. Eldon (Barbara)
Knapp, both of Ridgeway; Mrs.
Wilfred (Norma) Robinson,
Sherkston; Mrs. Wray (Joanne)
Nagel, Stevensville; Mrs.
Sherwood (Helen) Reinhardt,
Crystal Beach; four sons, William
(Bud), Westbury, N.Y.; George
and Guy, both of Monticello,
N.Y.; and Lloyd, at home.
MRS. MELVIN MEAD
Mrs. Melvin (Minnie) Mead,
96, passed away Wednesday,
September 11 at Mason Villa
Hospital, London. Formerly of
Clandeboye, the deceased was a
widow and has no known
survivors. •
Funeral service was Friday at
the Evans Funeral Home,
London, with Rev. R. B.
Cummings officiating.
Interment was in St. James
Cemetery, Clandeboye.

Women's Institute held their
September meeting at the home
of Mrs. Norman Hardy. Mrs.
Arnold Lewis presided.
Mrs. Rea Neil read a letter
received from the group's Italian
foster child.
The topic "Human Rights"
was compiled by Mrs. O'Neil and
given by Mrs. Hardy. A panel
discussion followed.
During the program, Mrs. Neil
won the, contest about trees.
Mrs, Eldon Hodgson won the
hostess prize.
Mrs. Norman Hardy and Mrs.
Harold Hardy were hostesses for
a social half hour.

The United Church Women
of Clandeboye met at the home
of Mrs. Rupert Williams.
President Mrs. Jim Donaldson
was in charge.
Harvest Home service is set
for Thanksgiving Sunday,
October 13. A bazaar will be
held Saturday, October 26 at
2:30 p.m.
The topic on Japan was
completed. Next meeting the
group will go on to the study
book chapters on China.
