Dashwood Tigers did, the same thing to eliminate the Walsingham Senators from Ontario Association Intermediate "D" play on their home field, Sunday. • Dashwood from, behind three times to win, 10-9 in an exciting contest that went eleven innings. And similarly to the Detroit pattern, they did it with the long ball. The local Tigers now meet Mattice for the provincial championship in a series that is expected to be played on Thanksgiving weekend. Jim Inglis of Guelph, an OBA executive member and convener of Sunday's game told us the series would start out to be a two-out-of-three affair, but could be cut to a sudden-death game if inclement weather prevails. Original plans would have the Mattice club make the long trip to Dashwood by late Friday to be ready to start the. series Saturday afternoon with second. and third games if necessary slated for Sunday. The holiday Monday could also be used for final games if necessary. Mattice is close to. 700 miles to the north and the final series is being held over until Thanksgiving because of the long trip involved. Dashwood's Sunday win over Walsingham was a case of youth and determination winning out over experience. The Tigers never gave up and kept battling back when they were behind at least three different times. The Walsingham club is composed mainly of veteran competitors and their experience showed several times during the contest. A perfect squeeze play bunt by Walsingham's Frank Erdelac in the top of the eleventh inning with the score tied caught the Dashwood club completely off guard to score what appeared to be the winning run. The Tigers bounced back in the bottom of the same inning to get three straight solid hits to score twice and win the ball game. The only Crediton run came in the sixth on Jim Finkbeiner's single, a passed ball and a fly-out. The BA's scored their first run in the second without the aid of a base hit and scored four times in the fourth on triples by Jack Fuller and Larry Willert. -Singles by Bill Farquhar and Pete Lawson along with a couple of Crediton errors gave the BA's their final three runs in the eighth.
