Exeter folks win Ridgetown award
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Chambers, Exeter, were chosen last Saturday as
Ridgetown's "tourists of the week". Doug Smith, former rec
director in Exeter, was on hand to present Mrs. Chambers with gift
certificates, while Mr. Chambers and Gloria read the "summons"

Emerson Cornish, Exeter,
passed away in South Huron
Hospital Sunday. He was in his
79th, year.
Survivors include his wife, the
former Mary Hey; son Gerald of
Exeter; daughter Mrs. Hurbert
(Donna) Wood, Flin Flon,
Manitoba; two grandchildren?
and one brother, Fred Cornish,
Exeter. One son, Chester,
predeceased his father in 1967.
Funeral service from
Hopper-Hockey Funeral Home
was held Wedneaday with Rei.
S. E. Lewis in charge: Interment
was in Exeter Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arthur
Whilsmith, Wilfred Shapton,

age of 69 years.

Johnston, she is survived by her

Wednesday from the Tasker
Funeral Home, Blyth. Interment
was in Blyth Union Cemetery.

Tuesday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Harold.
Schwartzentruber, Exeter. She
was in her 87th. year.
Born in Parkhill, the daughter
of Elijah Gilliss and Elizabeth
Johnson; she married Thomas
Kenney who predeceased his
wife.
Survivors include five
daughters, Mrs. Carl (Ruth)
Stire, Exeter; Mrs. Dorothy
Bender, Crediton; Mrs. Gladys
Wilhelm, Stephen Township;
Mrs. Carles (Pearl) Glanville,
RR 1 Exeter; Mrs. Harold (Jean)
Schwartzentruber, Exeter; four
sons, Gordon, Clifford and Roy
all of Crediton and Milton at
home.
Funeral service is from the T.
Harry Hoffman Funeral Home at
2 p.m. today (Thursday).
Interment is in Parkhill
Cemetery.
