Joan Westcott, sister of the
bride, Kitchener, was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Beth
Townsend, Woodstock, Cheryl
Westcott, sister of the bride, Ex-
eter, and Brenda Stephan, cousin
of the bride, London.
They wore identical floor-
length gowns of white lace over
yellow taffeta with yellow tulle
cascading at back from bows at
the shoulders. Yellow bows and
veils were their headpieces and
they carried white and yellow
shasta daisies.
Peter Marshall, Toronto, was
best man. Ushers were Ralph
Bray, Brantford, and Douglas
Mair, Montreal.
Robert Cameron was the or-
ganist and accompanied the solo-
ist, Harry Hern who sang Be-
cause, Wedding Prayer and 0
Perfect Love.

Legion Hall, the bride's mother
chose a mint green lace dress
with green and white accessories
and a yellow rose corsage. The
groom's mother selected a pink
lace dress, white accessories and
a corsage of white roses.
Before leaving for a honeymoon
in Quebec City, the bride donned
a white lace dress accented with
a yellow chiffon bow, white and
yellow accessories and a corsage
of yellow roses.
The groom is a graduate of
Mohawk College of Applied Arts
and Technology, Hamilton. The
bride is a graduate of London
Teachers' College.
BRIDE FETED
Prior to her marriage the bride
was honored at several showers.
Hostesses were Miss Beth Town-
send for friends in Hamilton;
Miss Joan Casson for relatives in
Brantford; Mrs. Susan Gregory,
sister of the groom, for friends
and relatives in Brantford; Mrs.
Dorothy Bell, Kippen, for a family
picnic and shower.
Neighbours met at Usborne
Central School for a shower. A
mock wedding was presented by
Lois McFalls, Jean Easton, Olive
Hicks, Beatrice Heywood and
Donna Patterson. Cathy Easton
favoured with two accordian sel-
ections.
The staff of Fairfield Public
School, Hamilton, honored Carole
at a staff picnic and presented
her with a deep fryer.
Mrs. Roylance Westcott honor-
ed Carole at a trousseau tea
Sunday, July '7. The, tea table was
decorated, in yellow and white.
Pouring tea were Mrs. Ronald
Stephan, aunt of the bride, and
Mrs. Robert Gregory, sister of
the groom.
Serving were Miss Brenda
Stephan, cousin of the bride, and
Miss Joan Casson, cousin of the
groom.
Showing wedding gifts, shower
gifts and trousseau were Miss
Joan Westcott, Kitchener, Mrs.

Cheryl Westcott, Exeter,
Mr. & Mrs. Allan Willsie were
at Niagara Falls over the week-

of California have purchased the
farm of John Holt and are re-
siding there.
Brian Gill has returned from a
week at the Cub Camp at Alvin-
ston.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Prance with
Brian and Bill Gill visited Mr.
& Mrs. G. Gotelaer Jr. and sons
at Rondeau Park, Sunday.

Mauve iris decorated the
Brucefield United Church for the
recent wedding of Gary Hilliard
Lawrence and Bonnie Lynn ROh-
inson. Rev. D, Stuart officiated
at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is, the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs, Ted Robinson,
KiPPeN and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard Law-
rence, Goderich.
Giyen in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride chose a floor-length
gown of cloud white delustered
satin and Venise lace in empire
line. The scalloped edge of the
lace rounded the neckline and
followed the long line of the dress
in front. The bodice featured
lilypoint sleeves with dainty white
satin covered buttons fastening
each sleeve. A cathedral train
fell from the neckline in stiff
folds. The bride carried a white
Bible crested with yellow baby
sweetheart roses. Her headpiece
was a four-tiered scalloped veil
sprinkled with sequins.
Mrs. Dawn Rathwell, sister of
the bride, was maid of honour
and bridesmaids were Miss Ann
Lawrence, sister of the groom,
and Miss Gayle Robinson, sister
to the bride.
They wore identical floor-
length gowns of mauve chiffon
over lagoda styled in empire
lines with sleeveless bodice and
scalloped neckline. They carried
bouquets of white daisies.
Groomsman was Larry Robin-
son, Kippen. Larry Ducharme and
Bill Noakes ushered.
The organist was Mrs.- Mary
Moffatt, Kippen, and soloist was
George Wilkies, Toronto.
For a wedding trip to Northern
Ontario, the bride travelled in a
baby blue Le Sabre suit with
accenting blue and white flower-
ed hat and white accessories.
Her corsage was white carn-
ations.

Joseph H. McQuarrie, Hensall,
has purchased the house, form-
erly occupied by W. R. Cooper
and will be moving in following
alterations.
Mrs. W. L. Mellis and some
friends accompanied her nephew,
William Gibson to Melton Air-
port, Sunday when he left for
England.
Mrs. Ross Carter, Gait, en-
tertained some friends and rela-
tives Saturday evening at the
home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Nelson Hood in honour of their
25th wedding anniversary.
The Robinson reunion was held
Saturday at Ted Robinson's home
with guests from San Francisco,
Toronto,Dutton, London,
Thamegvile; 'Chatham and the
surrounding area.Fift y-f our
members of the clan sat down to
dinner and supper. Sports and
races were enjoyed by all pres-
ent.
SUSAN HEARD
Huron gets new
home economist
Miss Susan Heard, B.H.Sc.,
has been appointed home econ-
omist for Huron County. She
began her new duties July 8 at
Clinton and replaces Miss Shar-
on Carroll.
Miss Heard is a graduate of
Macdonald Institute where she
majored in home management.
While at home 'at Acton, Miss
Heard gained valuable experi-
ence working with groups of young
people.
Middlesex home economist is
Miss Donna Stewart, B.H.Ec.,
whose home is in Trenton. A
graduate of the University of
Manitoba, Miss Stewart's head-
quarters are in London.
Ford family unite

The Ford Reunion was held at
Blackbush School Sunday with
40 present. They attended from
Jarvis, Bolton, Thorndale, Exe-
ter, Zurich and Dashwood.
Most welcome visitors were
Dan Hall and Mrs. Rose Ford of
Detroit accompanied by Mrs.
Dorothy Freuchtel and daughter,
Carol, from near Washington.

Mervyn Tieman underwent
surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, last week.
Miss Brenda Kipfer spent last
week at Goderich summer school
camp.
Mrs. Ralph Weber has returned
home after two weeks spent in
St. Joseph's Hospital following
surgery.
Mrs. Gordon Bender has re-
turned home after several weeks
in St. Joseph's Hospital.
Bill' Weber was taken to St.
Joseph's Hospital following a
tractor accident Monday. He had
to undergo surgery on his finger,
His room mate is Bill Kraft
who is confined with a ruptured
appendix.
Miss Edna Willert of Mitchell
spent Sunday with Miss Susan
Willert.
Mrs. Jack Cudinore of Willow-
dale spent last week with Mr. &
Mrs. Albert Rader. Gary Tiernan
returned home with her for the
week.
Mrs. Amelia Willert, Mr. &
Mrs. Milton Willert and Patricia
of Goderich, and Mr. & Mrs.
Cliff Penhale spent Sunday with
Mr. & Mrs. Wm, Schroeder of
Detroit and visited with their
daughter, Mrs. Gus Autenreith
in the hospital.

The July meeting of Roy's
United Church Women and Mes-
sengers met at the home of Mrs.
Calvin Christie. The meeting
opened with a worship service and
hymns led by Nola Dow.
Lee Miller read a Psalm and
Bonnie and Valeria McPhail led
in meditation.
The. Messengers worked on
scrap books, and games.
During the business period the
UCW voted $15 be sent to defray
expenses of the overseas relief
bale.
Mrs. Calvin Christie and Mrs.
Russell Miller were named a
committee to look after flowers
for the church services alternat-
ing with Staffa UCW till end of
year.
Lunch was served by the host-
ess and committee in charge.

ed last week at Grand Bend with
Miss Barbara Kerslake.
Mrs. Grace Scott visited last
week with Mrs. Jean Chalmers
and David Chalmers at Cooks-

pital, London, where she was a
patient for several weeks.

ton, is holidaying this month with
his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs.
