farewell and good luck to a fellow
member, Patrick Morkin. They
presented him with a clock radio.
Pat is the younger son of Mr.
and Mrs. Leo Morkin and has
been transferred to Vancouver
in the audit department of Huron
and Erie Canada Trust.
To honour Mrs. Eldon Hod-
gson's 80th birthday her grand-
daughter, Mrs'. William Rock of
Parkhill held a family dinner for
30 persons last Sunday at her
home. Mrs. Hodgson who is still
enjoying wonderful health, was
presented with two lawn chairs
by the family.
Last Friday night, bride-elect
Miss Carol Latta, was presented
with a silver tray and crystal
vase by the LondonLife Associa-
tion, and her fellow employees.
Later that evening the groom's
mother, Mrs. Stewart Park en-
tertained the bridal party fol-
lowing the wedding rehearsal.

Mrs. T. A. Hodgins.

On Thursday evening 76 Grade
8 pupils held their class party,
with staff, school board, and par-
ents as guests.
Allan Kraul was chairman of
the decorating committee who
chose a marine setting for the
gym.
Joe French was emcee for the
program including three ,num-
bers by the Grade 8 choir.
Guest speaker Ed. Manning,
who spoke on the good old days
of education, was introduced by
Linda Hardy and thanked by Joe
French.
Special lighting set off Julie
Hardy and Elizabeth Revington's
dance, Tom Hearn gave the Vale-
dictory address.
Mrs. Russell Goddard present-
ed the Mowbray awards to Judy
Froats, and Tom Hearn, the two
best students chosen by teach-

Mr. & Mrs. John Stanley and
family of Lethbridge are holiday-
ing with Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert
Stanley. A family reunion of 29
members was held on Father's
Day. On Monday the four adults
went to the Expo site. With no
waiting, they toured 2'7 buildings
in two days. On the way home
they took the Thousand Island
boat trip.
After six days in St. Joseph's
Hospital, Mrs. Gordon McDon-
ald is able to be home. Her
mother-in-law Mrs. Kenneth Mc-
Donald of Spartanburg, South
Carolina, is spending a week with
her now.
Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs.
Robert Patterson included Mr.
& Mrs. George Frayne of Kirkton,
Mrs. W. F. Patterson of Park-
hill and Mr. W. H. Patterson of
Windsor.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Hodgins
have returned from a two week
motor trip to Val D'Or, Quebec,
to visit their son, Lt. A. J.
(Sandy) Hodgins and family. They
had as their weekend guests Mrs.
Lily O'Neil and son Harold of
Detroit.
Mrs. Chris Fischer of George
St., spent a few days in London
with her family and had as Sat-
urday guests, Mr. & Mrs. Ray
Fischer and Mrs. Joe Mordush
and Charlene of London.
Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs.
Elmer Huffman included Mr. &

Mr. Steeper introduced the
pupils and Pete Culbert intro-
duced the staff.
Mothers of Grade 8 students
provided the lunch in buffet style
which was eaten in the class
rooms.
BUS TRIP
Friday was the bus tour for
Grade 8 -pupils. At 8 a.m., 58
pupils and four teachers left for
Kitchener. After touring the Doon
Pioneer Village, lunch was eat-
en at Victoria Park. In the after-
noon they toured Woodside, (boy-
hood home of Mackenzie King),
Huronic Villa (home of the blind)
and CKCO-TV. The childrentook
part in the Big Al show and sev-
eral won prizes.
The btis arrived back in Lucan
at 8 pm with tired-out teachers
and pupils,

Miss Martha Ryder, four score
years plus who has been living
alone since her sister was hos-
pitalized, fell in her Alice St.
home on Saturday. After some
time she was able to get help
and was taken to St. Joseph's
Hospital by the Haskett Am-
bulance. X-rays show her hip is
not broken as was first feared.
Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Armitage
and family were Sunday guests of
Mr. & Mrs. Morris Darling of
London.
Mrs. William Haskett has re-
turned from a three week visit
at Waldorf, Maryland, and at
Birmingham, Michigan where she
was the guest of Mr. & Mrs.
Clarence Rowe and Mr. & Mrs.
0. C. Lillie.
Mrs. Clarence Hardy attended
the Graduation Party at Prince
Andrew School last TUesday.
Mrs. John Casey retur ned
home on Wednesday after spend-
ing a few days with Mr. & Mrs.
C. F. Langford of Toronto.
Mr. & Mrs. Glen Kennedy and
two of their children, Darryl and
Denise, spent last weekend at
their cottage at Colpoy Bay.
Harold Corbett who underwent
surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital
was able to be brought home last
Thursday.
