The Youth presented Rev, and Mrs. Merrill James and family with an engraved silver tray. Ralph Weber received his pilot's licence at Sky Harbour airport, Goderich, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor and Mrs. Henry Wolfe, Long Island, New York, and Mrs. Rachel Bell, Huronview, Clinton, were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schenk and family on Friday. Paul Kirk had his new bicycle stolen recently and it was aban- doned in a wheat field near Tbames Road a few days ago. Russell Moore of Tobermory visited Friday with Robert Thom- son and other friends in the area, Robert Thomson attended the baptism of his great-grandchild Sunday morning. William Greg- ory, son of Mr. & Mrs. Wm., Chase was baptized in Goderich Baptist Church. Mrs. Norman Long returned home after spending two weeks with relatives in Owen Sound. On Saturday a thief or thieves stole three floodlights that had lit up a sign on the lawn of St. Andrew's United Church. By MRS. HEBER DAVIS On Friday evening relatives and friends gathered in St. Pat- rick's Parish hall to honor Mr. and Mrs. Maurice MacDonald who recently moved to Grand Bend, and Mr. and Mas. Jack Dickins who have sold their farm and will move into their new home when it is completed in Exeter. The evening was spent in play- ing progressive euchre. Mrs. Tom Kooy, Mrs. Clarence Mill- son, Maurice MacDonald and Harry Noels were the winners. The guests of honor were call- ed to the front and Mrs. Hugh Davis read the address. Church Wardens Bill Johnson and Hugh Davis presented them with a purse of money. Mrs. Bill John- son presented a gift. Both couples expressed their thanks and invited all to visit them.
