Gerald Hodgins, an employee
of the Department of Highways,
had the misfortune to injure the
nail of his right little finger. He
will be off work for a few days.
Owing to a wedding, the weight-
watchers, had to cancel their
Meeting last Tuesday,
Mrs. Owen Saward left on Sat-
urday by bus for Toronto, where
she will visit her daughter Gil-
lian (Mrs. Don Phillipson) and
other relatives and friends,
Last Sunday evening Mrs. John
Park held a family dinner for 26
members of the Park family, in
honour of her niece, Miss Bar-
bara Park and nephew Bill Park,
1968 graduates of the University
of Western Ontario. Both will be
married this summer.
Howard Cranston of London,
a former high school and Public
School principal from Lucan, is
much improved after his long
illness, Mrs. Cranston's moth-
er, Mrs. Laura Abbott, though
still confined to her bed, is also
much better.
Last Sunday Mr. & Mrs. Wil-
bert Stanley, now of London,
attended the funeral of the latt-
er's sister Mrs. Bruce German
of St. George (near Brantford)
who had passed away very sud-
denly,
Mr. & Mrs. Alfred D,ickens and
Mr. & Mrs. Lorne McFalls of
London and Mrs. Irving Gibson
of Lucan were dinner guests of
Mrs. Bob Coleman on Saturday.
miss Florence Chown of St.
Thomas spent last weekend with
her sister, Miss Reta Chown.
Mr. & Mrs. Sheridan Reving-
ton on. Saturday attended the fun-
eral of their uncle, James Baxter
of Wortley Rd., London, at the
Millard George Funeral Home,
London, Mr. Revington was one
of the pall bearers. Their daugh-
ter Mrs. John Marshall of Lucan,
accompanied them.
The Stanley family reunion
usually held at the Legion Hall,
Lucan, was held last Sunday in
a Toronto park. Those from Lu-
can attending were Mr. & Mrs.
Clare Stanley and family and
Mr. & Mfs. Gerald Lewis and
family.
Mr. & Mrs. Bruce B. Hodgins
of Guelph were Sunday guests of
Mr. & Mrs. Murray Hodgins,
and called on other Lucan and
Clandeboye relatives.
Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Sholdice
of London and Mrs. Wes Atkin-
son of Lucan, were Sunday guests
of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs of
Exeter.
Mrs. Cecil Armitage has a
pink cactus. It has only bloomed
three times in 21 years, but is
in bloom now, much to the joy of
all.

LEAGUE OF LOYALTY
Miss Lina Abbott presented her
16th and last annual League of
Loyalty report. During the year,
she said 68 children had been
enrolled. Of these, 28 had their
names placed on the Honour Roll
for having attended at least one
,roue of five consecutive Sundays;
16 children attended 80 percent of
the Sundays and 11 had been ab-
sent three or less Sundays.
Of the last group Holly Elson
missed three Sundays, Sandra
Avery 2, Bill Henderson 1 and
Peter Culbert, Jeff Culbert, Mi-
chael Henderson, John Hender-
son, Jane Hardy, Karen Hender-
son and Cheryl Hardy all had per-
fect attendance records.
Although Miss Abbott express-
ed deep regrets that ill health
forces her to give up her little
people she was most grateful for
