The Explorers of James Street
United Church held a mother and
daughter banquet in the church
hall on Wednesday evening.
Eleven girls graduated to CGIT
with Mrs. S. E. Lewis conduct-
ing the ceremony.
Graduates were Cathy Ecker,
Vicki Edwards, Melanie Hackney,
Jo-Anne Inch, Susan Insley, Fiona
Kennedy, Debbie Lindenfield,
Georgina Obre, Laurie Richard,
Charmalne Wise, and Darlene
Wolfe.
Dr. H. H. Cowen showed his
pictures on Japan. He, waeentro-
duced by Fiona Kennedy and
thanked by Jo-Anne Inch and
Vickie Edwards.
Debbie Lindenfield extended a
welcome and following a smor-
e gasbord meal a singsong was led
by Georgina Obre. Susan Insley
proposed a tribute to the Church
to which Rev. S. E. Lewis re-
sponded. Cathy Ecker toasted
the mothers to which Mrs. Arnold
Lindenfield replied.
Other entertainment included
musical selections by Laurie
Richard, a selection by the gradu-
ates and a duet by Laurie Rich-
ard and Gail Fuller.

honor Mr. and Mrs. A r thu r
Rundle who will celebrate their
40th wedding anniversary today,
June 6.
About 85 people sat down to a
picnic dinner. During the after-
noon a wedding cake was cut and
the couple presented with a gift.
Mr. and Mrs. Rundle wer e
married in James Street United
Church by Rey. Duncan McTav-
ish. They resided on a farm on
the Thames Road until six years
ago when they moved to 294
Senior Street, Exeter.
They have four children,
daughters M re. Harry (Marion)
Dougall and Mrs. Ellwood (Mar-
garet) Truemner and sons Hugh
and Allan. Their yotingestson,A1-
lan now resides on the home farm.
Today the family is entertain-
ing them at a dinner at the Dom-
inion Hotel in Zurich. The even-
ing will be spent at the home of
their daughter and son-in-laW,
