Crediton Churches were guests
for the May meeting of the UCW.
Rev. D. Orth, a missionary
in Japan for a number of years
and now in charge of the Korean
students at the Agricultural
School, was the speaker.
He held his listeners in rapt
attention as he described the
religious customs, the agri-
cultural methods used, the crops
grown and a day in the life of
a Japanese woman. The Japan-
ese tangerines, shipped all over
the world, are grown mostly on
the mountain side and cable cars
are used in the preparation and
harvesting of the crop. School
buses are unknown to the Jap-
anese boys and girls.
Rev. Orth showed beautiful col-
ored slides on Japan. The speak-
er was introduced by Rev. Wil-
son and thanked by Mrs. Elmer
Powe. Mrs. E. Powe, Mrs. H.

ducted the devotional part of the

panied on the piano by Marikay
