Flowers in the United Church
on Sunday were from the funeral
of the late Rev. Lya.1I Crawford,
a former minister of Grace Ang-
lican Church, which was held at
Southampton last Tuesday. A
number of friendsfrom this com-
munity visited the Eagleson Fun-
eral Home at Southampton last
Monday and Tuesday.

The home of Mrs. R. Worth-
ington was the meeting place
for Clandeboye WI with 13 mem-
bers and three visitors answer-
ing the roll call "What law I
would change to better the lives
of Canadians".
Mrs. Alan Hill, convener of
resolutions, prepared the pro-
gram with Mrs. Charles Cough-
lin reading from Home & Coun-
try about Mrs. Bird of Ottawa,
FWIC executive secretary. Mrs.
Harold Hardy gave a paper re-
lating to the status of farm wom-
en, also a humorous poem, Psy-
chedelirium Tremens.
Mrs. Hill read "A New Year's
Resolution", written by Ethel
Chapman in "From a Roadside
Window". A contest was con-
ducted by President Mrs. Arnold
Lewis on naming soaps and deter-
gents from RESOLUTIONS.
Mrs. Karl O'Neil assisted the
hostess at the social hour.
On display at the meeting were
six crib quilts made by Mrs.
parry Thompson, RR 8 Parkhill,
which were to be taken to War
Memorial Children's Hospital,
London.

and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carroll
attended the Sunday Nine O'clock
program at UWO, London, Sun-
day evening. Mrs. Dobbs is a
member of the choir.
Mrs. Hugh Davis was a guest
with Mrs. Rd Dickins, Exeter,
Tuesday and attended the Aux-
iliary meeting at South Huron
Hospital.
Mrs. Maurice MacDonald re-
ceived word Friday morning of
the death of her nephew, Gerald
Caldwell of St. Thomas. Mr.
Caidwell's mother, Mrs. Pete
Caldwell, was the former Bessie
Dickens of this community. Mrs.
MacDonald spent several days
with the bereaved family and
was joined by her husband Maur-
ice on Sunday. The funeral was
held Tuesday at 1;30 from the
Sifton Funeral Home, $t. Thomas.
Another brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Dickins, attended, also many
of the friends and relatives from
this community.
