A group of Exeter pee wees chosen from the local house league came up with a pair of wins Tuesday
to win the Lake Huron Southern Zone hockey title at the Exeter arena. The champs are, back row,

get on two occasions and Dennis
Morrissey and. pat McKeever bad
added. singles.
St. OleMents made a mild
comeback in the middle frame
scoring three times as they were
able to hold Crediton scoreless.
Ron Hinsberger hit the m ark
twice while Wib Bender scored
in single fashion.
In the final period, GlennOver,.
holt, Joe Regier and 'Hoy Smith
notched single scores to com-
plete the Crediton goal total.
Playing without four regulars,
the Tigers were unable to keep
pace with the Saints in Milverton
Friday and suffered a 6-3 loss.
Fred Lamb and Glenn Overholt
scored in the first period to give
the Crediton club a 2-11ead after
twenty minutes of play.
St. Clements quickly wiped out
the slim margin with an un-
answered four goal output in the
second stanza. Jim Morrissey
was the only Crediton competitor
able to find the scoring mark in
the final period as the home club
,came up with two goals.
Crediton Tiger,s have moved to
within One game of the Western
Ontario Athletic Association In-
termediate $4.1:1" championship as
the result of 7-2 win over the St,
Clement* Saints in Milverton,
Tuesday night.
The Tigers lead the best-of,
seven final set three games to
one with the fifth game scheduled
for the Exeter arena. F r ida
night at 8:30.

8.3 on. Exeter ice Sunday after
the St. Clements crew had squar.-
ed the series at a game apiece

day.
LATE SPLURGE
Four unanswered goals in the
third period proved to be the
difference as the Crediton Tigers
outscored St. Clements '7-2 Tues-
day to take a commanding lead
in the WOAA final.
Jamie Robb scored twice in
the last twenty minutes of play
while Dennis Morrissey and Fred
Lamb added singles to ensure
the Crediton victory.
St. Clements were first to hit
the score sheet as veteran for-
ward Wib Bender beat Tom Glavin
in the Crediton nets early in the
contest.
Pat McKeever wasted little
time in tying the score and Den-
nis Morrissey put the Tigers in
front 2-1 as the teams headed
for the first rest period.
Each team counted only one
goal in the second session with
Bender notching his second of
the night for the hOme club and

Upsets mark playoff
in popular dart loop
In Rec finals
Graham and Graham came up
with their biggest Win of the year
in the Exeter and district Rec
hockey league, Thursday as they
edged the league champion Bank
Boys 9-8 to tie thelr hest-fei,-
three semi-final series at a game
apiece,
The third and deciding game
will be played at the local arena
tonight, Thursday, at 8 o'clock.
The winner will meet the Credi-
tor) Tigers in a similar final
series for the league champion-

Creditor) outscored the Old
Timers 5,4 in the other half of
Thursday's, usual doubleheader
for their second straight win and
the right to advance to the league
final.
FOUR GOAL EFFORT
Playing coach Jim MacDonald
was at his scoring best in the
Graham and Graham 9-6 upset
over the Bankers as he scored
the last four goals for his club
to ensure the victory.
The balance of the Gez0 goals
were fired in single fashion by
Ted MacDonald, Ed Kerslake,
Gord Strang, Tom Watt and Jim
Hogan.
Chuck Becker and Grant Vol-
land each earned a hat trick for
their night's work to lead the
Bankers scoring attack. Com-
pleting the losers' goal total were
Jim Russell and Bob Jones with
single markers each.
Jim Newby in the Graham and
Graham nets turned in a spark-
ling performance in keeping the
usually high scoring Bankers
down to single figures.
LAMB LEADS SLAUGHTER
Fred Lamb continues to be
C rediton's top scorer as he scor-
ed four times in his club's 5-1
win over the Old Timers. Glenn
Overholt was on the firing end
of the odd Crediton counter.
Fred Wells was the only old
Timer able to beat Tom Glavin
in the Crediton nets.
Competition in the third draw
of the Exeter ladies curling club
is extremely close as winners in
each division will not be decided
until the schedule is completed
later this week.
In Tuesday play, rinks skipped
by Ellen Knight and Helen Webber
are at the top of the heap with
only one loss to mar their record
to date. Agnes Brayhas her four-
some in front in Wednesday ac-
tion with Audrey MacDonald's
quartet in close pursuit.
The Thursday division h as
rinks headed by Marg Murley and
Lee Dobbs in a deadloCk forfirst
place and they meet head-on in the
Finishing in first place didn't
bring much luck to the Dart
Sharks as they were eliminated
in the first round of playoffs in
final game today.
The winners of each group will
meet in an elimination playoff
next week to decide a draw cham-
pion.

Two other top finishers in the
league standings were also sent
into the discard by lower placed
clubs. The Turtles, who placed
third, were eliminated by the
Canners who finished ninth and
the fifth place Spares were down-
ed by the Shiphunters, who placed
second from the bottom
Joining the Featherflights,
Canners and Shiphunters in the
next round of play are the Hair-
pins, Cleaners and Itchy Four.
The latter three eliminated the
Legionnaires, Four B's andGen-
erals, respectively.
A special three-dart playoff
was held to decide the winner in
the men's high single department
during the season and Bill Smith
was declared the winner
