Suddenly on Thursday, March 7
Simon Peter Greb, 90 Gidley
Exeter, son of the late Michael
and Mary Greb, died in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
He farmed for some years
on the Babylon Line, Hay Town-
ship and had lived in Exeter for
the 'past 35 years.
He is survived by two sons,
Oscar, Zurich, and Kenneth, Cen-
tralia, three daughters, Mrs.
Urban (Valeria) Pfile, Zurich,
Mrs. Hugh (Edith) Love, Exeter,
and Mrs. Reg (Doris)Hodgson,
Waterloo, five grandchildren and
five great great grandchildren.
Two sisters, Mrs. George
(Laura) Willert,.Sarnia and Mrs.
Evelyn (Emma) Broderick, Ex-
eter also survive.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. E. Wattam, Grand
Bend, on Monday, March 11 at the
Ropper-liockey funeral h o rn e,
Exeter, with interment in Exeter
cemetety.

UCW STUDY ANGOLA
The March meeting of the UCW
was held March 6 at the home of
Mrs. Cecil Hartle. Mrs. Norman
Lewis, convener of Group 2,
opened the meeting followed by
Scripture read by Mrs. Tre-
vithick. Mrs. K. Pickering read
a poem.
Mrs. Earl Lewis read a chapter
of study book °In Angola Today".
Mrs. N. Lewis gave a short
poem on "March".
President Mrs. Fenton pre-
sided over the business. Roll
call was answered by 13 mem-
bers. Mrs. Fraser Dixon report-
ed being at the annual Presby-
terial held in London.

The congregation of Dashwood
United church was Welcomed into
the United Church of Canada by
the Grand Bend, and Greenway
United churches at a service
of welcome and dedication at the
Grand Bend United Church Sun-
day, March 3. A joint choir from
the three churches sang to a full
church. Rey. G, Morrow andRev.
M. J. James were speakers.
The service concluded with a
candle light dedication ceremony
The Dashwood church organiz-
ations were presented by the
following persons who lit a candle
on behalf of the organization;
official board, Carl Oestreicher;
UCW, Mrs. Eben Weigand; United
Church Men, Lloyd Eagleson;
Sunday School, Donald Gaiser;
3 W's Bible class, Mrs. Jessie

Bend ladies in the chtirch par-
lors to a capacity group.
HEAR HEALTH NURSE
The ,March meeting of Dash-
wood WI was in charge of the
Home Economics and Health
group with Mrs. Mervyn Tieman
convener and chairlady. Mrs.
Gerald Martene, health nurse,
was guest speaker using as her
topic "Mental Health" and also
showing a film on TB.
Roll call was answered by
naming something kept in the
medicine chest and why. Mrs.
Stuart Wolfe discussed the motto,
°Laughter, the best medicine".
Mrs. Tieman gave a recipe for
life and also conducted a sing
song. Mrs. Martha Weigand con-
ducted a mystery game and the
prize was won by Mrs. John
Rader.
President, Mrs. Glen Webb,
dealth with the business. The
Institute will canvass for the Red
Cross during March. Mrs. Carl'
Oestreicher reported on the
meeting for the retarded. A visit
to the Bluewater Rest Home is
planned later in the year. All
reports are to be given at the
annual meeting in April.
NATIVE DIES
Mrs. John Hauser, '70, the
former Gertrude Weigand, West
Lorne, born and raised in Dash-
wood, passed away inSouthHuron
Hospital, Exeter, Saturday,
March 9.
Surviving are one son John
at home and a daughter, Mrs.
Laird (Mary) Jacobe, Zurich.
The funeral was held Monday,
March 11 at West Lorne with
interment at Churchville.
