Clinton firm
gets business
After 41 years of operation
in the Lumber Builders Supply,
A. Spencer & Son of Hensall
have this week sold out to Ball-
Macaulay of Seaforth and Clin-
ton.
In 1927 Albert Spencer and his
son, Walter, moved to Hensall
from Exeter, and opened up the
lumber yard which had been
closed for some time. In 1933
the business was taken over by
waiter Spencer and since that
time has served the public in this
area.
In 1952 the Mill proper was
completely destroyed by fire and
rebuilt later that same year. Mr.
Spencer says that many happy
years has been the result of doing
business with the customers and
carpenters, and working with
loyal employees.
During the past 41 years they
have been especially indebted to
two employees—John Farquhar,
who was a steady employee, fol-
lowed by Aldon Vanstone (Roily)
who has been with the business for
the past 24 years.
